Besiktas has started game well but Necip Uysal mistake has led them to lose concentration.
In similar manner as all of Istanbul sides at the Super League, Besiktas has started openning week of the 2018-19 season with a win as it managed to beat 2:1 Akhisarspor with dominant football during 1st half.
Besiktas has shown strong and attacking football during 1st half which has mainly been also helped from defensive style of play from their opponents which have Turkish Cup last season and also started new season with Super Cup. With showing focussed dominant game it has found crucial two goals which has led them to win game at 39th minute with Pepe and Babel at 43rd minute. It was clear that Besiktas were certain those two goals would bring them win and even through it did their didnt have calm 2nd half. Team especially has lost concentration after it has conceded goal from very simple mistake from Necip Uysal. Besiktas seem to lose concentration during this mistake and have also conceded 2nd goal if Manu didnt miss 100% chance. Those reaction, or other words, unability to provide reaction after 2:1 would provide some worry and needs to be worked on as Besiktas can have similar stress during 2nd leg game of Europa League against LASK Linz.
Besiktas has started game and played for most part of the game at the great tempo and manner but itse performance towards end of the game does raise some questions of their focus for sure.
Trabzonspor are not in level of Super League yet.
Trabzonspor has provided pretty worrying and not very promising performance during their openning week as their had lost to another title contenders Basaksehirspor with 2:0 scoreline.
It was pretty visible that issues which Trabzonspor has from last season are being carried on as team didnt manage to provide any response against Basaksehirspor which would been expected to them if their want to be at least at the title race during this season. One of the weakest points which was available at the team also been defence line which did make high number of the mistakes and has allowed Basaksehirspor to create high number of the chances as the game has been progressing. It is true that its main attacking players has been missing and also Hugo Rodallega not being able to use his opportunities at top form has affected but with such defence even main attackers would be lacking to get high number of the chances as main focus would be to defend their chances. Only positive aspect is that Basaksehirspor has allowed them to see issues which their have and gives time to solve until its too late for this season.
Trabzonspor did start season in pretty form and didnt provide form which would be suitable for title contenders and need to improve in many areas as team.
Fenerbahce cant afford to concede goal against Benfica.
Fenerbahce would be coming out against Benfica during 3rd qualifying round 2nd leg with having good hope for strong support from their fans at the game where Fenerbahce among scoring cant afford to concede goal.
Coming to the fans side of game, Super League 1st week game against Bursaspor did show that Fenerbahce would provide much needed support which their would be giving to the side. As remembered, after 1st leg this blog has stated that losing to Benfica with 1:0 scoreline at Stadio De Luz wasnt bad result, but to make this disadvantage into own advantage among scoring at least 2 goals it cant afford to concede due of away goal rule. Even through Fenerbahce defence did improve from last season at both official games so far, its still makes mistake which led them to concede 2 goals. It needs to solve this defence and provide great balance between attack and defence to have tempo of the game which would be able to control their game. As been mentioned, Fenerbahce fans are very likely to provide strong pressure to Benfica and do their work and here is important that Fenerbahce does their own. Fenerbahce would have chance for next round as long as it does concede at short.
Fenerbahce would have tough game but it is capable to go through as it never lost to Benfica at home ground during 3 games.
