What happened in Turkish football today? 20/08/2018

Henry Onyekuru has scored his 1st goal for Galatasaray at home ground.

Galatasaray has managed to win Goztepe during 2nd half of the Super League at its home ground with only goal scored by new transfer Henri Onyekuru at the game which also market newly-signed player Emre Akbaba to meet with supporters.

Galatasaray didnt provide in all fairness a great performance against Goztepe and was lucky that their opponents was missing 3 important players and also didnt provide a great performance which would been expected from them. Taking account that Galatasaray has also shown poor performance during Ankaragucu, it was important for them to win 2 openning games of the week. Meanwhile, Emre Akbaba who was officially transferred day before the game, did play for half an hour and has shown great performance with looking for chances and also creating them, and despite of not scoring did provide a great focus and performance. In fact, it could be argued that he would provide great performance as he also supporter of the team since childhood. The game without doubt has also shown that team would continue providing great performance at home with help of the supporters as it did during last season.

Galatasaray has started season at great manner but play wise its still not in great position and hence it is important for them to keep on winning games.

Besiktas was lucky to win against Erzurumspor

Without doubt Besiktas has been lucky to win game against Erzurumspor taking account that their opponents has dominated game and showed high number of the attacks during 1st half. Change which happened at half-time has surely saved game for them.

Despite of winning against Erzurumspor with 3:1 scoreline, Besiktas continues to show warning signs with its performance which was visible little bit last week against Akhisarspor and especially during Europa League game against LASK Linz. It is clear that Besiktas with absence of Anderson Talisca this season, would have difficult chances of creating high number of the chances and finding goals when its needed most, even through to some extend suprising name Negredo is doing last games, as he has scored a goal yesterday which brought them leadership. Without doubt, Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes knows there is problems and with playing against Partizan on 24th August, opponent which is weaker but have right motivation as team needs to be solved if their dont want to have at difficult situation from 1st leg game. Performance of the players seems to be below their capability and its important to find solution to this issue.

Besiktas didnt start season in great manner but to luck for them their getting results which needed but it needs to solve this issue if it wants to have good season both domestically and in Europe.

Antalyaspor CEO Cihan Bulut has called for an early election.

Antalyaspor CEO Cihan Bulut has stated that due of strong demand from supporters, he would be calling an early CEO election and a chance to get support from result from current administrators.

As it is known, Antalyaspor are among main clubs which are been affected at financial issue due of needless high amount spend by previous administration which has left Bulut team with high debts. This has been rightly identified by Bulut himself and it is clear that it would be hard to solve those issues. Sadly for a club, those aspects are negatively affecting to players performance and has raised protest from supporters which are accepting from a team to get better results which their do right now. With fans playing an important role at the development of the club it has been right decision to call for early CEO election, with also situation that not many people would like to take into role for such difficult position right now, it does look that Bulut might be strongest candidate ironically or even run as sole candidate.

Antalyaspor is in difficult condition right now economically and thats affects to the team performance but everyone needs to be aware that to solve those issues it would need time.
