What happened in Turkish football today? 02.09.2016
Akhisar Belediyespor has fired Cihat Arslan with reports that he is involved with FETO.
Akhisar Belediyespor has announced that it has terminated contract with its head coach Cihat Arslan which surely has been seen as shocking and surprising decision as Arslan has provided a nice period and performance with many successes with a club.
However, there is strong rumour going around Turkish media that reason for this termination is lying to the connection of Cihat Arslan with FETO terrorist organisation which is reportedly has organised coup d'etat on 15th July. As it been known, right there is strong cleaning from FETO members around every organisation at the Turkey. It needs to state however, at the sportive and performance view, that Akhisar Belediyespor, whatever are reasons for termination, will find hard way to find good coach right now who would be capable to make same results and it would be shame if Akhisar Belediyespor will have downfall at this season just because their pretty successfull head coach Cihat Arslan was involved with the FETO and is main reason for his resignation.
The effect of the FETO to the footballing world has lots of effect and changes after failed coup and it does look like that it will carry on affecting it.
Besiktas has good team but is it strong enough for Champions League?
After summer transfer window has been over one of the biggest eyes and expectation is currently put into Besiktas due of Champions League season it has and also that skeleton of the team has been drastically since their 2nd week game against Kasimpasa.
Today there was big event of presenting to the public its new 8 signed players with an announcements made by Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman basically stating that he is hoping that team would become stronger and number players who are been loaned, namely Caner Erkin and Vincent Aboubakar, is open for an option to sign them and their could both to stay at the team for 4 years in total. It does need to say that Besiktas does look as stronger team with pretty good level players from foreign players and Turkish players. It is strong enough for Super League but still its pretty questionable if its in level of Champions League and how those names would fill spaces left by Mario Gomez and Jose Sosa but as usual time would provide answers to this questions.
Besiktas as usual is having high hopes for this season but it is certain that even fans are not highly hopeful for this season compare to previous one.
Trabzonspor will have transition season this year.
It is known that Trabzonspor is seeing this season as a transition season and doesnt have high aims and hopes and doesnt aim for league title with its main aim being winning title next season, when it will celebrate its 50th year, where it would aim for league title.
It does need to say that team has tried to mainly to strength their team with foreign players and compare to last season their are stronger. However, this team would surely have lots of time for adoptation for the Super League and as Trabzonspor CEO Muharrem Usta has stated this season would have high number of ups and down as season goes on and fans should be aware that team is not fighting for league title. Its all about patience in this season for a team and building league contenders for next season and to achieve that it does need to aim for European spots for next season.
Trabzonspor does have great vision but for it to happen it should manage this season in much better way than it did last season and if it achieves that we might see strong and title contenders next season.
