What happened in Turkish football today? 09.09.2016

Kayserispor aims to provide stressful game to Galatasaray.

After almost two weeks break due of international duties, Turkish Super League is back on action with 3rd weeks games taking place this weekend. One of the interesting games of this weekend would be between Kayserispor and Galatasaray which would take place tomorrow.

Galatasaray has started with 100% record the season with making 2 wins out of 2 by winning Karabukspor and Akhisar Belediyespor at the season where it has stated clearly that it will be only aiming for league title. Even through in playwise their still some areas which team to improve on regardless of good start of the season it does show big unity and focus towards the game ,factor which was missing at the team at the last season, which could be reason of winning games. Kayserispor meanwhile is also aiming to provide some stressful minutes to the opponents as it did at previous week against Fenerbahce and it does provide extra motivation to the Kayserispor player Umut Bulut who was loaned from Galatasaray where he would try to prove to Istanbul side that he is still quality player, how he would achieve that would become clear as game progresses.

Even through Galatasaray does come out as strong opponent it would be intense game with lots of attacks and Kayserispor trying its best to show its character and try to win a game at home ground.

Its time for newly-signed players to show themselves at Besiktas.

Besiktas would carry on its season against another newcomer to the Super League this season with this time playing against Karabukspor, after it had got a comfortable win against Alanyaspor during the 1st week of the season. This is also good fixture for them as on 13th September their will start Champions League campaign against Benfica.

However, stating that it is not expected to be an easy game for the Besiktas as Karabukspor has shown from 2 weeks game with Igor Tudor being the head coach that it is pretty tough opponent and set a target at least to stay at the league for more than 1 year and so far it does provide an image that it can succeed that. Besiktas with its newly signed players such as Talisca, Adriano, Aboubakar would sure their capability at the game tomorrow and we do might see stronger team on game against Karabukspor comparing to previous two games where it showed that it needs improvement in some areas of improvement. Besiktas is much stronger team  before the national team break but as always their performance at the field will prove if their able to convert those expectations.

Besiktas does come out as strong favourite but Karabukspor had shown great performance against Galatasaray. If Besiktas will not stay focus and on top of its performance it might get surprise result with pretty determined team.

European games in Turkey after winter time-saving  could start earlier.

Turkish government has made an announcement that their country will not go into winter time-zone which has raised question how it would affect to European games as their kick-off times would change from 21:45 to 22:45 at Champions League and 20:00 to 21:00 and 23:05 to 00:05 at the Europa League after this decision, which is specifically problematic for fans when played at home.

There are talks to use a Russian model of this case where the games used to start at that time before the country has decided to stay at the winter time zone all the time. According to that model, Champions League games would kick-off at 19:00 while Europa League would kick off 18:00 and 20:05 as long as the games takes place in Turkey. This would be allow fans to come to the games and start returning to home without time being too late, and this is only logical way to solve this issue of time which has been made by Turkey not changing time in October 30.

The decision would become clear for sure in upcoming days from UEFA announcements but according to the Turkish media this option is being considered and it is strongest to take place as a solution to this issue.
