What happened in Turkish football today? 24.09.2016

The game has been played with two different halves between Besiktas and Galatasaray.

Super League 5th week game between Besiktas and Galatasaray has been played as classical derby game where Galatasaray has dominated game at 1st half while 2nd half has changed roles as Besiktas has controlled much more. With both teams giving their all to the game it has ended with 2:2 draw.

The following game should be analysed with two halves taken seperately with Galatasaray dominating 1st half much better and showing more focus. The half has changed its character especially when Galatasaray player Eren Derdiyok has scored goal at the 8th minute following big mistake by Caner Erkin as the ball has hit post and bounced back to Derdiyok which helped him to find his goal. The game has been seen that Besiktas had trouble at starting to controlling game and has without much organisation and was hoping to find attacks throw counterattacks in fact this game has been played by them until finding goal by Marcelo at 73rd minute. It does need to be also observed that Galatasaray started smartly wasting time in 1st half at each stopping time which however could be seen as mistake as game ended with draw. Despite of that, Galatasaray has been seen to be more organised at first 45 minutes.

Besiktas has started 2nd half with a substitute of Talisca and Vincent Aboubakar which led them to play much more attacking football and with the factor that Galatasaray has provided more defence which led to home team create much more chances and seem to be more organised. It did look Galatasaray possibly psychologically became scared of Besiktas and has been pushed to the back. It was however observed that Fernando Muslera was not prepared for two goals and has conceded them without making any actions. This could be done due of Muslera issues at the close range shots even through he did great saves during the game. Besiktas meanwhile at the 2nd half has shown great character which brought them league title last season and has helped them to start league in good well.

At the end of the day both teams carry on league without losing games in this season so far and with how game has been played both teams should be satisfied with 1 point as it could be crucial for league title race towards end of the season.

Yusuf Erdogan goal could be most important goal scored by Trabzonspor during whole season.

Trabzonspor has clinched a victory from last seconds free-kick goal by Yusuf Erdogan and hence providing a very important victory for them against Konyaspor at the game where it had dominated the game. It does need to be stated that it well-worth point for them.

Stating that it still has lots of areas to improve at but it is certain that it gave its all for this game. Compare to previous league games, Trabzonspor has provided an attacking football and has created number of the chances however it had trouble at converting them. Following, Turkish Cup 2nd round win against Serhat Ardahanspor the following blog previous entries has emphasised that this win would bring positive impact to a team and it does seem that it did so as the game progressed. Even through as been mentioned it still need to improve at tactical at the front the fact that it was playing at the half of Konyaspor, being one of the tough opponents at the Super League is by itself a very positive thing by winning them and the fact that players and head coach Ersun Yanal were seen to be emotional during the game surely has affected positevely to the game.

Konyaspor meanwhile seems to mainly focus into the defensive play possibly being scared of their opponents and seems to be fine with a draw, an image which is very far away from last season and as been mentioned earlier would affect negatively to the Europa League and this game will not be enough for them against Belgian side Gent. It needs to play more brave football.

With the fact that Basaksehirspor has drawn earlier at the day, Trabzonspor has reduced its point difference by 7 points from leaders and has still chance to get into closer to the top as it aims to have good season as been mentioned prior to season. This win could be new start to for them.

Fenerbahce will likely be closer to the style of play with Dick Advocaat is aiming at in game against Gaziantepspor.

Fenerbahce as a team would play against Gaziantepspor during Super League 5th week game tomorrow, and it is aware that obtaining win against could be even more crucial compare to last week win against Kasimpasa as it would mean that it was start winning streak and do catch-up with league leaders.

Fenerbahce has provided much closer game in the game against Kasimpasa and has certainly has made head coach Dick Advocaat to possibly to look at the future game at more optimistic manner for first time but it is important to carry this on this week. Taking account that for 6 days team didnt play any games it has allowed them to train tactically and aim to improve and with Fenerbahce being at the better mood, and with this being derby week, it would surely aim to provide much closer football which is seeking for. Fenerbahce players Moussa Sow and Emmanuel Emenike are also becoming very good partners, as their were few years ago which could become crucial factor for them and team in general. Dick Advocaat meanwhile does look to finally set a perfect starting 11 squad he had at the mind as it is reported that team would start with same players as against Kasimpasa in last week.

This game is also crucial as it could provide motivation prior to very difficult Europa League 2nd week game against Feyenoord on 29th September where it would obviously aim for a win and provide surprising result which could straight away make them also leaders in such a tough opponent.
