What happened in Turkish football today? 26.09.2016
Fenerbahce needs to carry on winning games and improve its attacks.
With the help of Basaksehirspor draw against Osmanlispor and also Besiktas and Galatasaray drawing each other and also winning back-to-back two games, Fenerbahce has managed to reduce difference between leaders to 6 points and 4 points with its main rivals after 5th week of the Super League.
Even through Fenerbahce still pays some price for bad start for this season at the Super League, by
winning two games back to back, Kasimpasa and Gaziantepspor, it got back into the league title race.
Saying that, compare to Kasimpasa game, Fenerbahce had big trouble at converting its high number of attacks at 1st half to the goals and hence has led them to get into big stressful position and provide hope for its opponent Gaziantepspor which led them find a goal on 80th minute. The fact also that
Fenerbahce supporters are showing lack at coming to the stadium at home game also provides negative aspects to the team but as team is improving there is expectation that those fans would start coming to a team slowly. Saying that it does need strong support for this week game against Feyenoord at the Europa League 2nd week game on 29th September.
Fenerbahce is having in fact very tough week with playing against Feyenoord at the Europa League 2nd week game and also against Osmanlispor at the Super League 6th week. Going through this week without big damage would be great motivation boost for national team break.
Galatasaray player Hamit Altintop informed the club that he is unhappy at team.
It became clear that Galatasaray player Hamit Altintop has told to the team's technical staff that he wants to leave team and is unhappy to stay here. Taking account that in summer he keep telling he wants to stay, this is a big u-turn.
As remembered, Hamit Altintop has told to team, who was willing to sell him, that he would stay and would only recieve salary for games he plays. Quite possibly he provided that options hoping that he would be able to recieve some game time but this has not been much obtained from his performance this season. Another factor could be self-realisation that staying at the club is not best option and even if his career is coming slowly to the end, he still wants to get game time and hence considers to move to the team which would be able to provide that to him. It is likely that he would start considering new teams and move on January which team itself would be willing to sell him.
Hamit Altintop even through has been more like trouble for team in last couple years has also provided very effective time at the team and it is important to leave team with keeping those memories inside supporters.
Trabzonspor needs points for confidence and morale.
With winning the game against Konyaspor and last minute goal by Yusuf Erdogan, has provided big motivation for a team and it has started to look for this result as new beginning for them after very poor start to the season.
It needs also to remembered, that even if from different platform or level, Turkish Cup 2nd round 6:0 Serhat Ardahanspor win has provided big role at the motivation and confidence after very bad start at the Super League. It does need to be stated that Trabzonspor will still have trouble season and does provide an image that it will not get into top 5 spot, with looking how some clubs are playing. But is important for a team for next season, to get at least top half spot at the end of the season and get more wins than losses, including against big teams who would end season above them. This factor would at least provide motivation to the team.
It is certain as in similar manner as to Fenerbahce, it needs to carry on winning games as it would keep them motivated or even when it doesnt achieve that to provide high level football at games.
