What happened in Turkish football today? 25.09.2016

Fenerbahce has managed to win back-to-back even through it needs to improve its attacking play.

Fenerbahce carries on showing improvement with its performance this time winning against Gaziantepspor during Super League 5th week game even through it does seem that it  does need to improve with converting chances and finding more goals.

Fenerbahce has started game in a very great manner showing domination of the game and it has created many good chances and it should have found more than one goal after the end of the first half. The half has been mainly dominated with performances of Jeremain Lens and Volkan Sen with providing great performance at the midfield and providing chances to its attackers with their passes. In fact, Volkan Sen has been one of the most active players during this game and also following general performance after 5th week of the Super League. Despite of that, Volkan Sen didnt manage to score any single goals which possibly had provided negative impact to the player as he tries to find goals at all situation and is under pressure he provided to himself. Meamwhile, Gaziantepspor with having chance with scoreline of 1:0 had provided more attacking football in 2nd half and has found goal at the 80th minute. In fact, Fenerbahce almost lost an important 2 points if crucial goal by Jose de Souza didnt come at the end of game.

Gaziantepspor didnt look to be prepared for the game against Fenerbahce from the start of the game and it only had provided good 2nd half performance mainly due of Fenerbahce not able to find number of goals in start of the game or otherwise the game could have ended without 2nd half starting.

Fenerbahce has starting winning series at the Super League after winning Kasimpasa last week. Fenerbahce is coming out with high motivation to the Europa League 2nd week game very tough game against Feyenoord on 29th September.

Besiktas has lacked organisation against Galatasaray.

Besiktas has managed to get a draw at its home ground against Galatasaray despite of not starting game very well and has provided very poor performance during 1st half as it was underlined by the head coach Senol Gunes after game.

Even through it is great achievement to come back after losing game with 2:0 scoreline and providing full focus to the end of the game, in all fairness it needs to be noted that there was also mistakes by the Galatasaray as by going too much into defence. It was observed in fact that most of the game Besiktas was lacking any clear organisation find goal positions by the luck and was affected pretty negatively after conceding an early goal by Eren Derdiyok which meanwhile has happened due of lack of concentration by the defence. Besiktas were concentrated to the game and were hungry for a win but many of its movements were done in rush manner and this performance didnt let them to provide its best form. Therefore, it could been said that Besiktas did provide great fight and focus to the game but it wasnt their best game in the sense of the organisation.

Besiktas does need to be more focussed and organised against Dinamo Kiev on 28th September as this rush game could only lead damage to them in such crucial game at the 2nd week of Champions League.

Galatasaray should have played same as it did in 1st half.

Galatasaray meanwhile has provided very attacking football at the 1st half providing very controlled game and was wanting to score a goals however at the 2nd half due of psychological factor of winning against strong team in their ground it became showing defence focussed game.

This decision has cost them a win against Besiktas and could even lead them to lose game as Besiktas has carried on attacking after finding 2nd goal even through their also did lose great chance by Jose. It is possible that if Galatasaray has carried on playing in same manner as did in 1st half their would win game. In fact, Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes did state that if game continued like 1st, final score could be even bigger with the margin. Apart of getting possitive matter from 1st half it should also take negatives from 2nd half and try to realise what was done wrong at the game. Apart of Bruma, whole team seems to be glad of getting 1 point from Besiktas but it should not in my view as it lost game while winning 2:0 as game was going into last 20 minutes which means that something was done especially between 73rd and 78th minute of the game. It should figure it out so it wont repeat again.

Both Besiktas and Galatasaray are 2 points behind leaders Basaksehirspor and carry on its non-losing start of the league. This scoreline didnt do damage to either team but in same time it has stopped them having advantage over each other.
