Fenerbahce is now at risk to meet with Besiktas at last 16 of Turkish Cup.
Fenerbahce has come to very important game against Genclerbirligi as the game was important for them to end the group stage as leaders as it became clearer from Amedspor and Menemen Belediyespor game that both teams has qualified to next stage of the tournament before even kick-off the game.
Fenerbahce it needs to be stated did come out to the game at the winning spirit playing even through it has started defending the game. With Genclerbirligi aiming for draw as the scoreline will be enough for them to get to next stage as leaders and possibly avoid Besiktas at the last 16 stage. Trabzonspor has lost surprising 2 points against Gumushanespor and in risk of being out from cup.
Trabzonspor has recieved a surprising result during Turkish Cup 5th week game against Gumushanespor as the game has ended with goalless draw. Taking account that Trabzonspor needed to win today's game to get closer to the last 16 stage makes game result even more surprising.
Our blog has stated several times in our previous entries that Trabzonspor would certainly take this season Turkish Cup in a serious manner due of poor performance at the Super League but right now the time has a difficult position as this results make Gumushanespor to be ahead of the Trabzonspor with 1 point. Trabzonspor did provide some attacking football at the game where it was favourite but it has failed to convert them into chances factor which was observable during for most part of the season. Trabzonspor it needs to be stated has been accepted to play much better and dominate game after Bursaspor game but it didnt manage to do that. Trabzonspor carries on having issues with getting consistency at the season.
Gumushanespor meanwhile carries on its impressive result as it has got 2nd place prior to last week with providing good performance against Trabzonspor which needed to win. Right now their need to play against Kizilcabolukspor which is at the last place at the game where draw is enough for them.
Trabzonspor has made its task to get to the last 16 even more difficult as it had drawn today and right now need to win next week against leaders of group Konyaspor and hope Kizilcabolukspor will make surprise against Gumushanespor.
Galatasaray has got a critical win against Elazigspor.
Galatasaray has managed to show great reaction at the Turkish Cup 5th week game against Elazigspor at the time when it matters as it has managed to win against their opponent with 4:1 scoreline.
With following result, Galatasaray fate of being at the last 16 are at their own hands as it going to meet against 24 Erzincanspor which are 1 point behind them. With big teams always being able to show great reaction at the time when it matters it would be reasonable to expect them to win. Galatasaray attackers Lukas Podolski and Eren Derdiyok has provided a football seeking for goal as at the end of the game both players has managed to score 2 goals and hence get motivation for themselves as their were lacking to provide an attacking football during this season in overall.
