What happened in Turkish football today? 15.01.2017

Fenerbahce has lost an important two points against Adanaspor.

Fenerbahce has returned to the Super League game against Adanaspor in very poor performance where the players had shown willingness to win the game but were not able to provide organised football especially during first 80 minutes.

Foremost, it needs to be stated that Fenerbahce has come out without their best squad which certainly has affected their performance. With injuries of the Simon Kjaer and Volkan Sen while Moussa Sow being at the Africa Nations Cup, Fenerbahce did miss its main players. Despite of that, even with the current squad Fenerbahce players didnt show its best performance without being able to pass Adanaspor defence which has also provided for most of the time anti-football performance and intense defensive football and not being able to pass Adanaspor goalkeeper Itandje, who has played an important role for this draw. Another poor performance surely been by the defence with poor mistakes by Aatif Chachehouhue in midfield and performance by the Roman Neustadner. Fenerbahce players has failed to be fully focussed to today game and has only providing organised attacking football after 2:2 scoreline.

Adanaspor meanwhile has shown one of its best performances of this season as Levent Sahin has played its 1st game as being new head coach of team. It has shown great defensive attacking football with Magabe and also good game at the defence. It was showing good organised game for most part of the game. Only mistake which can be seen from team is wasting time for long time and shortly providing anti-football at 2nd half.

Fenerbahce has got a draw which could be qualified as loss for them as it is now 7 points behind Basaksehirspor who it would play against next week at home with today's result making it even more must win game for them. It has time week, with Turkish Cup game in between, to get ready and solve its issues it had following today's game.

Garry Rodrigues has shown that he will be big help to Galatasaray this season.

Galatasaray has restarted its Super League season with a win against Konyaspor even through it didnt manage to present its best football, it did find goal with a forward seeking performance by the new transfer Garry Rodrigues.

It needs to be mentioned that Konyaspor has played 1st half much better compare to Galatasaray with finding high number of the chances which has provided some worrying performance by Galatasaray and once again the role of Fernando Muslera has played an important during the game even through he was playing with a broken finger. The entrance of the Garry Rodrigues during 2nd half of the game has to some extend has shown that team has made a very effective transfer this winter as it got player who has great skills at crossing the ball into dangerous zone and playing fast-paced football. This transfer would certainly be also good news for Eren Derdiyok as he is known for his great headers. Coming to the yellow card decisions, it does raise some question and even through Ali Camdanli comment towards referee of being scared, it does raise questions if their is double standards with decisions.

Galatasaray has returned with a good win and has kept its motivation for upcoming games as it would play a crucial games for league title in upcoming weeks.

Besiktas game against Osmanlispor would be pretty tough for them.

Besiktas is going to restart this season with a very tough game against Osmanlispor during Super League 17th week game as it aims to win all of the games until end of the season to defend its league title.

It is been reported that Besiktas has experienced a very good midseason training camp and it aims to show this factor at one of the most difficult game against its fellow Europa League contenders Osmanlispor at game tomorrow. Even through Besiktas does come out as favourite it will not be straight forward game as it would have a difficult time at playing at the cold conditions with snow expected to be at the time of kick-off. It is remembered that Galatasaray had some tough time during the game and it is expected that similar occassion could be awaiting for the game.

Taking account that weather conditions at the game will be tough, Besiktas would also have difficult opponent so it will not be an easy game at all for Istanbul side at the capital.
