What happened today in Turkish football today? 10.11

Fenerbahce and Alex arguments is getting ugly and useless.

Starting from last weekend, there is seems to be taking place new polemic between Fenerbahlce legendary ex-player Alex de Souza and with his club CEO Aziz Yildirim, regarding of not recieving bonuses for the win against Sevilla at Champions League 2nd round game of 2007-08 season.

Fenerbahce club has made an announcement stating with documents of that time that every single player at club has recieved bonuses which included Alex de Souza. Club's CEO Aziz Yildirim in return has stated that Alex is hungry for money and is been like that back in the club. Today this scandal has taken another turn stating that Alex at Fenerbahce used in total of 4 different signaturies for different documents. Club plans to open criminal case figuring the purpose of this.

Alex de Souza became most legendary player not only in Fenerbahce but in whole Turkey with also having statue of him in Kadikoy. Most important thing for club is not to throw dirt in the name of Alex, as consequences from club fans could be unforgivable.

Senol Gunes statement about "Bursaspor captain begging to take him" is unethical.

Turkish football on Sunday had also another scandal development following game between Besiktas and Bursaspor during Super League 11th week. Following game at press conference Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes, who was coach of Bursaspor last season, has stated that "Bursaspor captain was begging him to take to Besiktas".

There seems to be unclear was it Volkan Sen (now in Fenerbahce) or Serdar Aziz, but whoever it is following statement was not very ethical and quite naturally made Bursaspor to be furious about. Quite rightly, Bursaspor has stated that this statement is unethical and doesnt suit for someone who is at footballing world.

In addition, if it is Volkan Sen then Senol Gunes statement at same time criticises his team as it wasnt able to buy him and lost him instead to Fenerbahce.

Umut Bulut automatic extension made some Galatasaray fans unhappy.

As Galatasaray player Umut Bulut has released lots of criticism of club fans and sports media in recent days, Galatasaray has announced that Bulut contract has been automatically extended for 1 year as it was stated three years ago when player was purchased from Toulouse.

Umut Bulut, despite of poor performance lately, is among key players at the club recent history and should be treated in respected manner but as usual in Turkey it was focussed into current performance. Bulut in my view will be able to improve as season progresses, and with automatic extension it still shows that club trust him as it could terminate contract.

Now fans need to be patient and trust Umut Bulut.
