What happened in Turkish football today? 01.11

Pereira needs time to solve issues but not too much is left

Since start of this season, mass media has provided lots of criticism to current head coach Vitor Pereira and discussing about his performance at the club and later has moved into possible replacement of him and candidates to that position in its reports and analysis. Turkish sports media as it is known is tends to impatient with poor performance, especially of "big 4" teams. However, club has stated numerous times that it is behind Vitor Pereira.

There are some aspects which has affected for poor performance of Fenerbahce, such as: new head coach, new players and new system. All of this needs time to set in at the club even with very good squad. However, taking that account club is still not showing any signs of getting into desired performance and in opposite shows same qualities which been raised criticism in first weeks, is only bad news for Pereira.

As been stated yesterday, Vitor Pereira should be given time until December to make team perform if until then there would not be improvement than club might consider changing head coach for the 2nd half of the league. Few good performances and qualification to knock-out stage of Europa League should be able to keep Pereira at post at least until summer.

Galatasaray will play against Benfica with  high morale

Galatasaray is having very important game on Tuesday against Benfica at the Champions League which could more clearly identify target of the team at this European season. The previous win at home against Benfica has showed that club has saved its season at Europe but as always in competition more needs to be done.

Advantage of team is that it is on rise currently at the league and Europe and goes on with very good motivation. It is also raised characteristics of not giving up if its concedes goal at the game, as it done comebacks against Benfica at first game.

Most important aspect, right now players are believing it can bring successful results and hence will play in more higher morale. Biggest win for club in October, was to raise motivation at the team which it was lacking in start of football season. Eskisehirspor reaction of fans, despite of low numbers, showed that supporters giving more motivation to a team.

Low visit to Turkey was focussed into Gomez and Podolski

During 10th week of the Turkish Super League, German head coach Joachim Low has visited to Turkey to take a look at Lukas Podolski performance in Galatasaray, Mario Gomez at Besiktas and meet with Turkish head coach Fatih Terim.

Undoubetedly, Low has a good connection with Turkey as he had also head coached Fenerbahce in later 1990's and enjoys coming to Istanbul as he stated himself several times. Regarding of two German players he should feel satisfied even through Mario Gomez to some extend didnt provide his best football against Kasimpasa but that was mainly due of whole performance of team and Kasimpasa great play. Despite of that, Mario Gomez is still more likely to be selected.

Lukas Podolski meanwhile does score goals but still didnt provide his best football at the team and certainly Low has players at his hand in same position with better performance. But still, Podolski has time until summer to clinch his name at squad of German team at EURO2016.
