What happened in Turkish football today? 07/08/2020

Basaksehirspor has extended contract with its player Mehmet Topal for 1+1 years.

Basaksehirspor has announced that it has extended contract with its player Mehmet Topal for 1+1 years, as without player did provide big role for side winning title during this season and such short extension with option is mainly due of his age.

It is known that Basaksehirspor quite naturally are satisfied with its squad as apart of losing to Copenhagen at Europa League in overall side did have very good season and mainly starting 11 did provide strong performance. With Mehmet Topal having high level performance and being one of the best midfielders in recent years it would be expected that he would be among one of the players with who it would like to keep on its squad and hence club did sign 1+1 contract with player. With having Champions League experience without doubt would also provide big help to player in upcoming season without doubt.

Hence, this extension is being right on track but as been noted previous day side does need to make some transfers to make themselves Champions League competitive.

Rizespor has appointed Stjepan Tomas for 2+1 years.

Rizespor as was expected was some time now has appointed Stjepan Tomas as club's head coach for 2+1 years with Tomas being familiar with league both as player and coach for some years now.

Without doubt, apart of playing and coaching with Turkish sides he did also provided some strong result in both fields in all of his clubs and hence it shouldnt be surprising to see for him to get some good results during next season. Rizespor even through did manage to stay on top leagues, during past 2 seasons always been on edge of relegation and with upcoming season 4 clubs would be eliminated club would need to provide much more confident performance. With such experience as Tomas, he would be able to make some good result with making side providing fight for mid-position in the league with of course getting some transfers to make his squad stronger and competitive for this league without doubt.

Still, with such good experience in this league, he has capacity to get some good results with this side which Rizespor were seeking for some time now without fulfilling its potential.

Kayserispor has made deal with Bayram Bektas

Kayserispor are reported to make 3-year contract with Turkish National Team ex-assistant coach Bayram Bektas as side would be aiming to show better result compare to last season.

It needs to be reminded that if relegation did take place in previous season than Kayserispor would be relegated even through it needs to be noted that Robert Prosinecki, whose contract been ended, did everything he could to do so and it wasnt much his fault. With getting opportunity with staying in the league next season, it would be aiming to get result and appointing Bayram Bektas who needs to be admitted does have some good experience would be playing crucial role to achieve this. It needs to be noted that next season could be harder as four sides would be relegated, but Bektas will have quality to show competitive result during next season.

Officially, appointment expected to be announced on 11th August of 3-year contract between sides.
