What happened in Turkish football today? 23/08/2020

Basaksehirspor has recieved warning fine for starting game late.

Basaksehirspor has recieved warning fine from UEFA for starting Europa League against Copenhagen during last 16 2nd leg game at delayed time among also providing same fine to head coach Okan Buruk.

UEFA has found both club and its head coach Okan Buruk responsible for starting game at delayed time then was scheduled at 19:55 as association as it is known does play important role for starting its game on time mainly due of connection its does have with official broadcasters who naturally demand for games to be started on scheduled time. As it is known, starting games at kick-off time isnt being very strict in Super League and federation doesnt provide much flexibility but as been noted UEFA doesnt provide similar flexibility factor which club needed to be aware as it competed in tournament for some time right now. This warning meanwhile means that if it would be repeated it would recieve more harsh fine so from now, it needs to be more careful at Champions League.

This warning should lead for club to be more careful when coming to starting games when scheduled at UEFA.

Besiktas focuses into signing players which Sergen Yalcin worked before.

Besiktas head coach Sergen Yalcin does looked to be mainly focussed into signing players which he had working on previous clubs even through this could be also lead for limitations which side has during this transfer window.

Due of economical conditions of all clubs in this summer, it was visible that all transfer negotiations of sides has been led with focus of signing players from other domestic leagues and some of the head coaches when been newly-appointed decided to focus into players which their worked before due of familiarity which they have with each other and hence transferring them. Besiktas hence especially provided strong focus with getting Wellinton and N'Sakala with providing specific focus to end transfers which their managed and now focussed with Papiss Cisse and Gokhan Unal with who he did work actively during previous season and managed to get high level performance during this period.

Therefore, Sergen Yalcin main priority is to get players which he is familiar as club focusses into Super League experienced players.

Fenerbahce continues to overpass set spending limit with transfers

Without doubt one of the most active sides during this summer transfer window is being Fenerbahce which did make so far 9 transfers and does consider to make even more and that taking account that its spending limit from TFF doesnt allow much flexibility to them.

One of the most discussed topics in Turkey right now is how Fenerbahce CEO Ali Koc manages to make as much as possible transfers in such period of time when it does have some serious economical issues and spending limits. Stating that, it needs to be noted that most of its are been done without high level salaries still its condition doesnt allow as even with previous season squad it does have some spending limit. It is clear that either he would go for revision of this deal with making new deal with banks regarding debt or he is sending some message to TFF. Time would show how such move would have consequences to them when TFF reacts.

It needs to be remembered that TFF can proved fine, not providing licence to club and provide some deduction of points for not following spending limit rules.
