What happened in Turkish football today? 04/08/2020

Basaksehirspor has advantages compare to Copenhagen but most important it needs to stay focussed.

Turkish champions Basaksehirspor are going to be resuming Europa League campaign after 5 months break with 2nd leg game against Copenhagen in Denmark with hoping to get to final 8 tournament which would take place in Germany.

Basaksehirspor with winning 1st leg game in Istanbul thanks to penalty goal from Edin Visca and also having motivational and confidence boost from winning title would be looking forward for such game. As it is known, Copenhagen did request from UEFA to play game with supporters which been declined from organisation which for sure turned out to be good news for Basaksehirspor and could be seen actual reason why Danish side was so eager to play with fans. Basaksehirspor probably even more importantly did have good preparation with high training session and focus despite of winning title only week ago. This aspects without doubt would be advantage but Copenhagen would provide good performance for sure do and hence team needs to stay focus.

If Basaksehirspor gets to mini-tournament at Germany,it would meet with Manchester United but side needs to forget about this as it could provide some distraction during game.

Sivasspor has transferred Jordi Felix for 2 years.

Sivasspor has become 1st club during 1st day of summer transfer window in Turkey to make public transfer as it signed Piast Gliwice player Jordi Felix who promises to be highly potential player and hence showed some signs of making quality transfers.

With Sivasspor expected to be losing high number of key player in this summer transfer window and also getting direct ticket to the Europa League it would need to make some strong transfers who also could be bought with low transfer fee. Without doubt, Joao Felix coming from Czech club does fulfill this criteria as being young player and being from Spain does provide some potentiality with adding that he did provide some very good performance in his previous club and does hence have quality to fulfill places of some players who would be living club and could provide some good results for his side both domestically and Europa League.

This transfer has high possibility of being very effective but it needs to make some other similar transfers without forgetting its financial situation it is.

Fenerbance plans to make unprecended actions after spending limit has been announced.

Fenerbahce has once again provided its strong protest towards spending limit for summer transfer window it has recieved from TFF, as this matter has been subject of polemic for some time now.

Since appointment of Ali Koc, CEO has been providing some strong criticism towards unfairness of providing its amount of spending limit believing that its been provided too low with providing strong barrier for club to develop and make competitive side for next season. It needs to be reminded that limit is been made into going through financial condition of each club and then set limit so in long run it wont affect finances of that club, so to some extend its focusses to protect side. However, this has been seen not case from some clubs, with Fenerbahce providing high level of protests. Fenerbahce with its announcement stated that some revolutionary decisions would be made following such announcement. There are rumours that not participating at Super League could be among them.

It is unlikely this decision could be made even if its on table, since it would provide many more financial issues but some interesting decisions could be made to show its stance.

Schedule:
UEFA Europa League, last 16, 2nd leg:
19:55 Copenhagen - Basaksehirspor (agg: 0:1)
22:00 Manchester United- LASK Linz (agg:5:0)(winner of this tie would be playing against winner of Copenhagen-Basaksehirspor tie at quarter-final)
