Trabzonspor has got into last 16 with confident game.
Trabzonspor thanks to the goals which came during 50th and 70th minutes, it got comfortable win against Altay during Turkish Cup 5th round game with 4:1 scoreline and most importantly has led for Daniel Sturridge to found 2 goals.
Even through Trabzonspor did come as strong favourite there was expectations that Altay could provide some stressfull moments and resistance towards them and in fact their did during 1st leg and also until 50th minute during 2nd leg but when Daniel Sturridge did find goal on 51st minute and also after 6th minutes Caleb Ekuban has scored 2nd goal, Trabzonspor did start having very confident game as Altay whose chances to get to last 16 has been dramatically reduced did mentally physically gave up which led for Trabzonspor to have much more confident game and slowly get to last 16 stage. It needs to be noted that this game would provide strong motivation also to upcoming games in the Super League where it would certainly aim for 6 points until mid-season break.
Trabzonspor especially after 50th minute has got confident win against Altay and for sure has got crucial confidence boost from game.
Galatasaray will aim to carry on good performance against Goztepe.
With gaining crucial confidence and motivation following 4:0 win against Tuzlaspor during Turkish Cup 5th round 2nd leg, Galatasaray would be coming to Goztepe where it would be aiming to transform such positive attitude to league.
Quite naturally, Galatasaray did see Tuzlaspor in mental focus as turning point for them as their getting poor results in this season including recent weeks and hence it did see this game as point for improvement. But needless to mention to get that performance level into next stage it would need to carry on such performance for Goztepe game for sure and provide much more strong attacking game with fighting spirit, factor which Fatih Terim has complained most during this season. What is important for players is to believe themselves and provide strong performance after which for sure it would be start showing much more better performance which would transform into results. Goztepe meanwhile is also providing good performance recently and likely to show confident organised game so it wont be easy task for Galatasaray.
Galatasaray does come out as favourite but it would be needing to carry on this high level performance if it wants to get good result from this game.
TFF FFP spending limit has been changed back to 30%
Following high amount of pressure towards TFF following changes with FFP, TFF has announced that it would be changing limit spending limit in this season back to 30% from 40%.
Most of the clubs, with Trabzonspor taking leadership, did provide strong pressure towards TFF and unhappiness with limit to be changing from 30% to 40% stating that it has provided advantage to big 3 clubs in Istanbul. In fact, Fenerbahce did make statement that it didnt provide request to change it after rumours that Fenerbahce CEO Ali Koc did have meeting with TFF CEO Nihat Ozdemir. Following such pressure from all parties, with argument rightly that rules cant be changed in the middle of the season, TFF did make change back to 30%. Even through this decision has been right one, it does even more show how unstable and undecided is being TFF which tends to be issues for long time right now. TFF carries on making decision regarding into moment of the day, which could be seen from previous decision and this does provide some issues with its trustfullness.
Now it would be important to keep this rule until end of the season and close this question as it would only provide damage to TFF.
