What happened in Turkish football today? 11/12/2019

Galatasaray has shown pathetic game against PSG.

Galatasaray has lost its last Champions League group stage game with losing to PSG with 5:0 scoreline with providing incredibly poor performance and not providing any character and fighting will against its opponents and hence has ended group at last spot.

Galatasaray did come out to the game with an opportunity to end group in 3rd spot but it needed to win game but interestingly it has started game at the back with providing defending game. With taking account that it would end group stage at last spot even if it gets draw regardless of Club Brugge game, this tactic has been very strange as if it losing and drawing in this circumstance is same thing. Likely with Galatasaray realising that outcome would be same it has started conceding 2 goals back to back which followed with being spectator for rest game, just watching how PSG plays without trying to get control of the game. Galatasaray probably played its worst game for very long time, while PSG has got easiest win, and I will not be overexerating, in its history which could be found in some goals scored today which came without providing too much effort. It is clear Galatasaray needs to solve some big issues and it would not be solved with some transfers in mid-season break.

In return, PSG has got its easiest win in this Champions League campaign ending group stage at top spot and looking forward for last 16 draw on 16th December with high confidence.

Galatasaray should be ashamed of themselves as this performance will not be accepted by anyone involved with club especially with its fans.

Basaksehirspor needs to win Borussia Monchengblach for knockout stages.

Basaksehirspor would be coming out to crucial and probably most important game in its history as would complete its Europa League group stage against Borussia Monchengblach at the game which it manages to beat it would get into Europa League knockout stages.

It needs to be noted that both Borussia Monchengblach and Roma will be coming out to the game with 1 point advantage against Istanbul side, which would mean that team can only aim for win as Italian side likely to beat Wolfsberger. Basaksehirspor with all fairness would have difficult game as Borussia is having very good season right now being leaders in the Bundesliga and without doubt would be liking to see Europa League play-off round, so without doubt Basaksehirspor would need to provide extra effort for this game and providing very strong attacking game without being too much scared of its opponent but in same time providing strong respect. Therefore, it would be crucial for them also to provide balance both in defence and attack while playing strong confident game. Basaksehirspor most importantly needs to be believe and provide confident performance to get surprising result.

Basaksehirspor in all fairness surpassed itself with getting to this stage but now it needs to be provide even more for knockout round.

Besiktas is playing fully formality game against Wolves.

Besiktas would be completing its Europa League with formality game against Wolves, who has also secured knockout stage in tournament but would now be focussing into leadership chance with being 1 point behind Braga.

Besiktas did find itself outside of any hope for knockout stage due of losing points in start of campaign, but as team it is now at good form which even through didnt do any in Europe, did help them raise to 2nd spot in Super League. Besiktas therefore would be aiming for win in this game also to keep its winning habit on even through in understandably manner it would be playing substitute. Stating with all that it needs to be noted that Wolves are being favourites as their in better concentration for this particular game with having opportunity to end group as group leaders so it would be playing for win without doubt.

Both sides has not much in stake, but Wolves is likely to be more concentrated for this game while Besiktas is playing fully formality game.
