What happened in Turkish football today? 10/12/2019

Galatasaray will have tough time beating PSG.

Galatasaray would be coming to its last Champions League game with having small chance to see European spring after New Year as it would be needed to win PSG and hope that Real Madrid would manage to beat Club Brugge in parallel game at group.

With Galatasaray having pretty poor Champions League campaign as it only has managed to score only 1 goal which came from last game Club Brugge draw, would mean that it would be coming to field as strong underdog both to the game and also race to Europa League. It is true that PSG has secured its top position in the group and hence this game is not important for them, but with character for big clubs to end group stage with win regarding circumstances and also playing at home would provide them strong advantage. Add that that Galatasaray still have attackers issue would provide problems with finding goal which it has during this season at Europe. Real Madrid who has secured 2nd spot, can beat Club Brugge but this outcome could not be enough for Istanbul side.

Galatasaray mentally would like aim to get win against PSG but there is big questions if it has capacity to get that outcome on the end of the day.

Trabzonspor would send complaint for TFF changing spending limit from 30% to 40% at FFP.

Turkish Football Federation some changes towards its FFP regulations which it has set during this season by raising spending in the end of the season from 30% to 40% which it had defended with not making agreement with broadcaster of its share paid to club.

This decision has led protest from Trabzonspor which states that it would send complaint towards TFF arbitration committee stating that this being against fairness between clubs which it aimed for between clubs. Their decision to complain does make sense since it would allow bigger clubs to provide much more spending, which mainly being spend into transfers obviously, and hence will carry on providing unfair advantage for signing stronger players compare to mediocre sides. TFF does state that this decision did come for goodness for all clubs and are detirmened not to do any changes, but Trabzonspor did state that club might go as far to send complaint to UEFA and CAS if it wont get result from committee.

Therefore, it does look like this issue might get into pretty interesting issue between TFF and Trabzonspor where both sides does have different perspective regarding this issue.

Sivasspor is only team which has surpassed with its performance this season.

As we are getting closer to mid-season break, league is taking into interesting perspective where league leaders are being Sivasspor with 3 points advantage over Besiktas and showing football which puts on that position.

With overall clubs are showing poor and unstable division in the league, it needs to be noted that Sivasspor is only team which has surpassed itself and providing organised performance. Sivasspor average point so far during this season is being 2.1, which is still below average for league title race (generally its being 2.5) but once again Sivasspor being generally mediocre side and being even sometimes at relegation area. Meanwhile, it needs to be reminded that during 2008-09 season, Sivasspor has also been at title race losing it to Besiktas with 1 game difference. One of the main reasons for this success is being providing balanced performance both at defence and attack which is being one of the few sides in this league. Sivasspor meanwhile does have risk of losing Hakan Yandas and Emre Kilic who are being main reasons for side to be at top,as top clubs are interested with them and club does have strong task to keep them at least until end of the season.

Sivasspor would come out to very important game this week against Fenerbahce which would be one of the most exciting games this week without doubt and would raise curiousity how their would perform.
