What happened in Turkish football today? 04/04/2018

Kayserispor head coach Marius Sumudica would resign if team doesnt end at top 8.

As been stated at our blog yesterday, Kayserispor administration has decided to keep its head coach Marius Sumudica for 3 more year as club has extended his contract for 2 more years, to which Sumudica has stated that he is here to stay unless team doesnt complete season at top 8.

This blog would now focus if this statement has any reason not to become true as Kayserispor does look to be at good situation to end season not only at top 8 but also end league at 5th spot for Europa League as it is one point behind Trabzonspor who are currently located at that spot. It also 4 points ahead Yeni Malatyaspor who are located at 8th place which means that team cant lose 2 games out of 7 games. Therefore, there is risk for Marius Sumudica for this statement to come true especially after losing to Fenerbahce with 5:0 scoreline, however it needs to be noted that the team didnt provide great performance on the night due of not playing with strong squad and also having unexperience goalkeeper. In overall, it needs to be admitted that Kayserispor in other games, despite of poorer performance in 2nd half is showing good performance for their own level. Therefore, and if Sumudica manages to get needed motivation for last 7 games as it was in 1st half of the season this aim could be achieved for sure.

Without doubt this statement has been stated to keep him focussed for good ending for the season and he is likely to provide this motivation in similar manner to his players.

Mehmet Kaya has announced candidacy as Trabzonspor CEO.

With CEO election coming for Trabzonspor during this weekend, an opponent for Ahmet Agaoglu has been announced as another local businessman Metin Kaya has announced his candidacy with
poster standing with Trabzonspor shirt as in background we see their stadium.

It needs to be noted that Ahmet Agaoglu looks to be as strong candidate to win election due of his support from club administrators and also having likely more experience with those issues. What is important here that both candidates are aware as everyone else that team does have some serious economical issues and hence to solve those issues should be priority. Metin Kaya needs to provide strong plans and projects to solve those issues which he needs to annouce and he has only 3 days prior to CEO election while Agaoglu has arleady done so and stating that journey will not be easy at all. With Metin Kaya announcing his candidacy therefore by some could be seen as a way to show that election would be running in democratic manner and hence push team forward for this election to take place in good manner. Stating that focus into election days could be focussed into bad doing of previous CEO's from statements from candidates.

Ahmet Agaoglu would be coming as favourite due of support and statements he makes but we would see if he would actually win on weekend.

Milan are interested to transfer Galatasaray player Serdar Aziz.

One of the interesting transfer news which has been going around Turkish sports media is been that Milan are interested to transfer Galatasaray player Serdar Aziz.

During recent period, with mainly good performance of Turkish players around Europe, rumours that clubs from top leagues are interested with them has been raised with new one being that Milan are interested to transfer Serdar Aziz coming from Italian media. As always this is only rumour but if such a door would be opened it is clear that Aziz would likely be able to use it. However, it is not clear to all respect to him if he is ready as player into such a level and if this rumour is true than Milan could be seeing him as good substitute in that position. Meanwhile, it is known that Galatasaray doesnt see Aziz as player to keep during summer transfer window and if it does recieve good offer could consider to sell him to Italian giants.

The time as always would show how true are those rumours but as been seen this could be as surprise if its case indeed.
