What happened in Turkish football today? 20/04/2018
Basaksehirspor has kept itself at title race with an important win against Kayserispor.
Basaksehirspor has won very important game against Kayserispor during Super League 30th week game and has kept themselves right into title race after losing last week to Galatasaray with Arda Turan showing his best performance since joining club with 1 assist and 1 goal.
Foremost, its need to be stated that main subject area at football world and beyond in Turkey has been unwanted events which took place at Fenerbahce stadium during Turkish Cup semi-final 2nd leg and it would be discussed below. But since we also had an important title race game involving Basaksehirspor and also keep focussing it would be important to start this blog with this game. As been mentioned, Basaksehirspor player Arda Turan has provided very good performance as he had provided assist to Edin Visca during 28th minute game in quality manner and has also found 2nd goal which has probably led for a team to win game. Talking about tempo of the game and control, its needs to be admitted that Basaksehirspor didnt show great game but as been mentioned in previous games its mainly important to get points rather show great game. Basaksehirspor has got into leadership once again with having one more game compare to Galatasaray and has kept themselves at the title race and has shown that it would be fighting for league title until end of the game.
Kayserispor even through did show improvement compare to previous games against Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor still does show that it is pretty far from its high level of performance which it has shown at 1st half. Still its still at 5th spot race which could be opened for Europa League spot if Akhisarspor loses Turkish Cup final.
Basaksehirspor as been stated has found an important win against Kayserispor which could been pretty tough game and Kayserispor did have some moments but it has found those points and keeps them at the title race.
Most likely version of Turkish Cup events are to be provocative actions from outside force.
Sadly, Turkish Cup semi-final 2nd leg between Fenerbahce and Besiktas which was promising to be very excited game with high level performance would go down into history as another event of "football terorism" which everyone would like to forget.
There are had been provided many versions of the events with sides from Fenerbahce and Besiktas providing their own versions, which to some extend could be understood from fans and teams, but this behaviour from media outlets is not understandable and does only hard for this situation. There are versions which thrown blame to referee for ending game so easily and allowing Ricardo Quaresma reactions at corner kicks to manipulate him, Besiktas player Tolga Zengin reaction towards fans which he has shown for using foul language on his diceased mother which led Senol Gunes to relax him and hence getting an outside item which led him 5 stitches. However, most discussed in neutral stands and which seems to be worryingly likely explanation is an outside provocation which has been done in purpose. It needs to be remembered, even through in NO circumstances those actions are understandable, and state that game was going into hands of Fenerbahce as 0:0 would lead them to final of competition and also Pepe recieving red card in 1st half. Therefore fans has no actions and it does look like that the case. Istanbul Asian side Attorney General has stated that their study all materials which has took place at game while Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that it looks like outside groups to be involved.
Those events whatever reasons are should be stopped at all costs and everyone who has involved needs to recieve highest fine while TFF plans to make announcement about fate of the game on 26th May.
People who break rules at football stadiums should be punished in same way as outside stadium.
Coming to the punishment side as been mentioned it should be provided at most heavy part and thats where upper parts of the republic play an important role with their decisions regarding of Sports Law.
It is reported that there has been revision of Sports Law in recent weeks and this revision provides double of punishments which would be given to personalities who would break following rules including heavily arrested. It is reported that one person has arleady been taken into custody where he states that it was instant reaction towards actions by Besiktas player Tolga Zengin and he didnt aim to anyone while throwing item. It is important to note that its regardless if he aimed to someone or not as those item should not been thrown at any circumstances and hence should have been stopped and prevented. There cant be no mercy to this actions, regardless if its done by normal civilian, someone from clubs fan club or outside force such as terror organisation, law should be equal and should be treated in same manner as it does outside of stadium. Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes could only get 5 stitches and is currently at good condition, but circumstances could been any worser and this possibility should not be accepted by anyone who is involved at football.
Those actions should not be repeated and to prevent more control should be given into the stadiums if everyone wants to give good name to football in this country.
