What happened in Turkish football today? 02/04/2018
Fenerbahce has got unexpected comfortable win against Kayserispor.
Fenerbahce has got an unexpected comfortable win against Kayserispor with 5:0 scoreline where it has controlled game from start to end with finding high number of the chances and not allowing to Kayserispor to create almost no chances during the game.
Kayserispor has started game with unexperience youth goalkeeper and hence had very difficult game awaiting for him and this stress and also unexperience of goalkeeper has provided huge help for the Fenerbahce. It could be possible that Fenerbahce has come out to the game with this knowledge as it has provided an attacking game as it wanted to use this opportunity to raise its motivation for last games. Fenerbahce has provided most organised game against its difficult opponent with not only finding 5 goals but also in whole field has provided great game in all of the field. This performance hence has shown to everyone that their belief for league title it is still there as team focusses to win all of the games. Main player of the game has been Roberto Soldado who among finding 2 goals has also looking for more chances and cool have scored more goals during the game.
Kayserispor meanwhile has shown pretty poor performance as it couldnt get into the game and has lost motivation as game progressed. It could be argued that unexperience of the goalkeeper has led for such loss to Kayserispor, but other players including defenders didnt provide great performance either and allowed Fenerbahce to dominate game.
Fenerbahce has got huge motivation for last 7 games as it has only chance to win all of the game if it wants to get league title at the end of the season. It did show today that is capable to achieve that.
Galatasaray shows dominance at home ground.
Galatasaray carries on its fight for league title at confident manner as it has won Trabzonspor with 2:1 scoreline controlling game from start to an end without allowing their opponents to get any control of the ball especially at attacks.
It needs to be stated that main share of its leadership and 56 points it has gained has come from home games as it has won 13 games and only drawn one. This pressure which team had towards Trabzonspor has been started as soon as game has begun and didnt allow Trabzonspor to get into mood of the game. It was clear that Trabzonspor head coach Riza Calimbay has failed to solve solution and even made things worser with needless changes at 55th minute and spoiling team which was providing good game in start of 2nd half. Coming to Galatasaray, even through it could be argued that Bafetembi Gomis didnt manage to provide his best performance he did score goal once again and as whole team had provided great fight. What is most crucial for Galatasaray right now that it has got strong support from their supporters and this home performance does send strong messages towards Basaksehirspor and Besiktas who would come to stadium in upcoming weeks.
Galatasaray does have control of its fate for league title but it does have difficult games coming up and hence it needs to give their best for next 7 games if it wants this title as it would meet against Genclebirligi in upcoming week.
Basaksehirspor did win game against Akhisarspor despite of not showing great game.
Even through Basaksehirspor didnt provide its best performance against Akhisarspor, especially during 1st half it has managed to show comeback to win game with 2:1 scoreline even through 2nd goal does have some questions.
It needs to be stated that the 2nd goal has come from outside from corner kick, position which would been identified from VAR system and will be hence disallowed. But it needs to be stated that Basaksehirspor during 2nd half has been one who was showing attacking game and was looking to find goal. Akhisarspor even through did start game in good manner it was obvious as game progressed that it doesnt have much aims at league as it expected to end at midtable it has lost its concentration with its confidence with only aim for team could be seen as Turkish Cup final. This factor did make things easier and Akhisarspor does show figting spirit but psychological does effect this. Basaksehirspor even through did win game does show an image that when it plays against mediocre it has harder time compare to big teams and this factor could effect them in upcoming weeks and aim for league title.
Still, showing such as comeback would provide team strong concentration and motivation at least for Super League 28th week game against Yeni Malatyaspor.
