With the Galatasaray having tough week following shocking 2:2 draw against Astana at Champions League and rumours of resignation of Hamza Hamzaoglu it was important for club to get good result against Medipol Basaksehir, which it managed to do with 2:0 scoreline.
Despite of good results, Galatasaray was still in performance wise not in great condition and was lacking style of play which would characterise the champions. But this performance could be excused as since Wednesday more or less was in stressful condition within club and undoubetly addition stress was created by the media. The good last touches both by Lukas Podolski and Umut Bulut has helped team to raise motivation to the team and possibly start new winning streak. And it was important to get to national team break with win.
Saying that Lucas Podolski goal should not be counted as it clearly has touched hand before he made last goaling touch. Even Hamza Hamzaoglu had admitted it was hand ball, and if in Turkey its been said by opponent coach than something was not right. Overall, it was important for Galatasaray to win this game despite of poor game.
Constant taken into custody in airport once again proved that players have high ego
Among news, most important event happened this morning when Trabzonspor player Kevin Constant was taken into custody in Istanbul airport as he was flying to Nice for holiday. The event has taken, as economy ticket holder Constant, has moved to the business class section. Later, he started agressive argument with workers and policeman.
This event once against showed that some players has high ego by being successful players and "I can do whatever I want" attitute. It would been much better if player just has apologized for being there and go to the right section. But what probably he said is "Don't you know who I am?" which raised all arguments with him and policeman.
It is important to remember, including to players, whoever you are police treats you equally. Footballer just should play football, and dont think as themselves someone important and cool.
There are lots of rumours about Yunus Malli for not being selected at Turkish national team.
One of the talking points in today media was question of Yunus Malli not being including at the national team squad for Turkey. During last two weeks, there were talks that Turkish national team coach Fatih Terim has agreed with Yunus Malli that he will choose Turkey over Germany.
There were rumours why he wasn't included in media. While Turkish media said that formalities of him being available to play did not complete, German media argued that Yunus Malli did not yet decide to which national team to play for.
There are cons for each side of decision. Which are:
- Choose Turkey and play for team which you origin of, regardless being German national.
- Choose Germany and play for team which is more successful and will help his footballing development
Choice is with Malli, but he is likely to play for Turkey.
