What happened in Turkish football? 05.10

Fenerbahce is close to win its "match-fixing" investigation

Since July of 2012, one of the main discussion points of Turkish football has been match-fixing investigation which was based upon Fenerbahce doing match-fixing at 2011-2012 season. As it is know, Fenerbahce CEO Aziz Yildirim has requested for the case to be reopened, stating that all of the allegations were as move towards him and club by people who needed political gain.
Even through final decision has now been moved to this Friday, 9th October, there are some issues which made Fenerbahce look positively on decision day.

One of the main arguments is that section of Violence in Sports about match-fixing as overall law, was not in effect when suspected accusations were done and hence this case cant be open, according to prosecutor. Regardless of technicality, there is also sections of court which has stated that law was not broken.Firstly, court has announced that there were no signs of match-fixing mentioned at referee reports regarding those games.

Fenerbahce CEO and Aziz Yildirim has fought about this match-fixing case since it has begun and could finally get into victorious ending. Meanwhile, the court has suggested to acquited 6 suspects including Aziz Yildirim.

Vitor Pereira still can make great team, but won't it be too late

One of the main issus at the team base, during  national team break, is Fenerbahce performance so far and future of head coach Vitor Pereira.

As been mentioned at our blog  numerous times, Vitor Pereira is failing to bring to the club what he has promised such as more attacking football, team play which would characterise champions. Instead it raised unhappy Robin van Persie, who was expected to be heart of the team and poor defence.

From beginning when Vitor Pereira has come and when transfers were made I was expecting for team to  play more like European team, be strongest in Turkey and get at least to semi-final of Europa League. I was among ones who though Pereira needs time as it  is new team. I still think that
Fenerbahce can manage that performance, but if those aims are put for this season then time is running out (especially in Europe, in Super League its early days and club can still become comfortable champions). Pereira needs to solve main issues for this to happen: solve defence issue, become "friends" (or more like businesslike, "I am your boss so I respect you but you do what I say" relationship ) with Robin van Persie. In fact, if those two issues are been solved then club will be able to reach aims set by club prior to season. Mainly because attacking half of the team is much stronger to defensive.

Turkey is in better position to get 3rd place at qualifiers

As we entering to the deciding Euro 2016 qualifiers week, Turkey is undoubetdly is having two very important games against Czech Republic on 11th October and against Iceland on 14th October. As long as Turkey gets 4 points out of this two games, regardless o performance by Holland, it would get third-placed play-off spot.

Turkey is having one advantage and disadvantage. Advantage, is that Iceland and Czech Republic has arleady qualified to the Euro 2016 proper tournament while disadvange both are at same points and have fight for top spot. However, and its important point, technically there is no advantage to end at first spot so its just question of status. While, both Holland and Turkey are aiming for sometimes and hence have higher motivation. I am expecting that Holland will at least  gain 4 points (Kazakhstan (3 points) and Czech Republic (at least 1)) so it is important for Turkey to at least win one game, preferably against Czech on Prague this Saturday as it will be reduce stress game against Iceland.

Well, I will only stay only for short analysis for this crucial games, as it seems that until Saturday this game will appear at the blog frequently.
