What happened in Turkish football today? 08.10

Besiktas must sign happy Gomez for long time

Besiktas German player Mario Gomez during today press conference has stated that he feels happy and comfortable to play for Besiktas, and that he is main achievement is to make team champions of Turkish Super League he also adds that he is happy with training tactics used by head coach Senol Gunes.

Undoubetdly those statements could be read as full satisfication by Mario Gomez with his club and Istanbul in overall. As Gomez, makes those statements and as he is loaned player from Fiorentina, it is important for Besiktas to make its best to sign Gomez into long-term contract as it transfered probably best new-signing player of whole league so far.

Mario Gomez has two aims in this season one as he stated to become champion and second, which is related to first, to be called once againt to German national team for Euro2016. With the player with such motivation and happiness at Besiktas, club should do its best to sign him for long term or it will be sorry in future.

Kevin Grosskreutz has chance to prove why Galatasaray will need him.

On Saturday, Galatasaray problematic player Kevin Grosskreutz will finally play his first game against Greek team Perspikilis as friendly game. As remembered due of problems in last-minute signing Grosskreutz did not get licence from FIFA, but it doesnt stop him to play friendly games.
Grosskreutz for first time will be able to show his skills to team and supporters and first time people would understand if he has enough quality to be at starting 11.

Undoubetdly, the player who would give his best on this friendly will be Grosskreutz, as it has chance to show that he is important to club.
Konyaspor should aim for European spot

Konyaspor are among the team following 7 week period who had better start to the season which was unexpected to them. The team which usually finishes at the mid-table of the league, is currently at 4th position with 6 points behind leaders Besiktas.

Surely, the results which team did not expect themselves could mean that club could aim at last European spot behind top 3 Istanbul clubs. With the experiences Turkish head coach Aykut Kocaman at the spot and with club performance this target could be achieved as long as players at the stay focus and provide its best performance.

Another advantage to the club is poor performance so far of Genclerbirligi, Gaziantepspor, Eskisehirspor and Bursaspor which usually fight for this positions. At short, as long as Kocaman and his team believes, Konyaspor could fight for the European spot this season.
