What happened in Turkish football? 12.10

Last year noone expects Turkey to be in play-off now it might even get there directly.

As it should be reminded, exactly last year this time all of the hopes by supporters and media for Turkey to qualify for Euro2016 were almost to none as after 4 games team only had gained 2 points. Right now Turkey has real chance to end at play-off spot with only one point in the game against Iceland.

In addition, it might get best 3rd spot as long as Kazakhstan beats Latvia in Riga, and it can happen.
According, to EURO2016 status the best of 3rd team qualifies directly as long as last team place points are not counted. Turkey had only gained 2 points from Latvia but 6 from Kazakhstan. If
Turkey wins tomorrow it will raise its mark to 11 points if Latvia finishes last. If Kazahstan finishes last than it will risen to 16, 1 point ahead of current 3rd best Hungary.

Therefore, what initially seems to be target for one point, should now be three points. Turkey should win if it wants to be Euro2016 or at least play-off spot.

One thing is certain while game is draw or Turkey is losing all ears will be in Netherlands vs Czech Republic game, when Turkey will be winning everyone will wonder how Latvia vs Kazakhstan is going. Best part, currently all three games are important in last week of qualifiers. One thing is certain Turkey deserves to be in Euro2016 with its incredible comeback after dissapointing start to campaign.

Serdar Adali criticism of Besiktas treatment of matchfixing scandal is understandable

As been stated at yesterday blog, during match-fixing scandal Fenerbahce was always seen as biggest victim. Due of that Besiktas was always seen as least important  even through club damages economically and prestige were also big.

This argument became more obvious when ex-vice CEO of club Serdar Adali, who were among suspects of the case, has stated how how fans of club and other adminstrators showed their lack of support to him. Adali said that fans did not even come to courthouse last Friday, for the acquintance and stated thats the reason why we cant have strong union inside the team.

Both Turkish media and Besiktas itself did not run PR successful during match-fixing scandal period and sometimes it  could be forgotten that club was involved in case. This mistake is arleady been done, now Besiktas just needs to fight for its right legally.

New punishment policy by Galatasaray hits pockets but might be enough to stop indiscipline among players.

In today's Turkish media there was circulating news about new disciplinary actions towards players, who in view of club, show disrespect to head coach Hamza Hamzaoglu and also prestige of the clubs.
During last weeks, Galatasaray players were observed to give negative reactions to Hamzaoglu during substitutes and also useless cards gained during games.

To make punishments more fair, club decided to give fine to the players according to its salary. Therefore, higher wage player recieves higher would be his fine according to lower wage players. In addition club won't pay bonuses to the players if club wins incase of indisciplinary actions of such players.

Following actions, which affects directly to the pockets of players, should help to reduce this actions. However, this thing happen in emotional base and when anger is present he might forget his monetary bonuses. He would feel sorry but it might not stop him on the moment.
