What happened in Turkish football today? 10.10

It was important to get win in this dark day for Turkey

Turkish national team win against Czech Republic during Euro 2016 qualifier apart of being very important one for taking play-off qualifying stage but it was also important for bringing some good news in this devastating day for Turkey, to its supporters.

Coming to the game, Czech Republic could be argued did not play very active game and to some extend has allowed Turkey to take control of the game. Despite of that first 60 minutes of the game Turkey didnt manage to get into any successful attacks and shots on target. Only penalty at 61st minute has allowed Turkey to start playing more attacking football which showed to its supporters and Czechs that it wanted to win.

Turkey has shown some character after 60th minute and proved that it wants to get to the Euro2016. Of course, the factor of the terror attack taking place in Ankara should also taken into place as it affected psychology to the players which could explain the way players played in first minutes.

However, it is certain that Turkey now needs to get at least 1 point on Tuesday against Iceland, as Czech Republic went into cruise control which makes Netherlands closer to the win in last game. However, good news is that Ireland is also at cruise control, which could seen by 2:2 scoreline against Latvia.

Would Aziz Yildirim stay as CEO?

One of the main questions following match-fixing acquintance taking place yesterday, is would Fenerbahce CEO Aziz Yildirim resign from his post as  he has promised.

As would be remembered prior to start of reopening of match-fixing case Aziz Yildirim has said that he would resign regardless of the decision of court, and he will support Ali Koc to take his place.
There are vast amount of rumours in media that Fenerbahce adminstrators are trying to keep Yildirim as CEO as their believe that he needs to do some things for club, but Yildirim himself states that he is tired and need to focus into family issue. However, it won't be surprising if Yildirim decides to carry on for two more years.

During last few year match-fixing was biggest fight of Yildirim as CEO of Fenerbahce, with some more actions to be taken place as compensations and complaint by Trabzonspor it is uncertain if Yildirim will resign. He might announce his decision at press conference which supposed to be taken place on 15th October, but was scheduled into later day due of terror attacks in Ankara.

Turkey needs to unite following today terror attack

Actually discussing about EURO2016 qualifier between Turkey and Czech Republic game and match-fixing acquintance cases seems to be unimportant when comparing into the events which took place this morning in the capital of Turkey.

Due of peace march organised by youth, two bombs were exploded which lead to the 86 deaths who were present at the locations. Turkish government has announced 3 day mourning due of this event.
The football world in Turkey has also responded with this in their own hard line. Almost every single club in Turkish Super League and Turkish Football Federation themselves have condemned following terrorist attack. All of the game which were planned for this 3 days were cancelled. Friendly game against Besiktas and Shakhtar Donetsk was cancelled and Turkish national team refused to comment about game against Czech Republic.

Turkey needs to be united once again against terrorism, and sports should do its share as it always played important in community.
