What happened in Turkish football today? 17.10

Chedjou performance at 2nd half has brought important win for Galatasaray against Genclerbirligi.

Galatasaray restart to the Super League, following national team breaks, has begun with comfortable win against Genclerbirligi with a scoreline 4:1.

If looking at the game in full of 90 minutes, than during 1st half Galatasaray has presented very poor football allowing Genclerbirligi to control ball. Even through Genclerbirligi only have found 1 goal, it could be said that Ankara team did not use Galatasaray  weaknesses effectively, apart of Stancu goal post shot and goal by El Kabir.

Starting from 2nd half Galatasaray player Chedjou has took control of whole game with his assists and one goal. With the help of Chedjou, Galatasaray has played more fast-paced game which led to the  victory.

One thing is certain following results will provide big motivation for Galatasaray prior to Champions League against Benfica and Super League derby game against Fenerbahce.

Galatasaray needs to extend contract with Emre Colak

Due of financial fair-play situation with Galatasaray which led club to make some financial changes within the club including decrease of buying expensive players and changes of wages towards current squad. Among players whose contract was ending next summer was Emre Colak.

Following extension of contract with Wesley Snejder, one of the main questions was would extension with Emre Colak took place especially regarding of poor performance by himself so far in this league. There were also rumours that Colak wants to leave club, but today it became clear those news does not represent truth as Colak has agreed to have negotiaitons about extencion.

Emre Colak is among players who developed as player while being at Galatasaray and his will to carry on contract is huge plus for the club. During last two seasons he arleady proved that he is quality player and could be one of the great players both for Galatasaray and Turkey. Club needs to extend contract with player who is loyal to his club.

Fenerbahce needs to keep Lazarovic if it wants to have good season.

As last two days were dominated by Barcelona being interested to sign Robin van Persie this winter from Fenerbahce, there are another rumour coming out today regarding of player who was loaned this summer in the club.

According to British press, Liverpool newly signed coach Jurgen Klopp might be interested to bring back Lazar Markovic this winter and exchange him with Divock Origi.

Even through Lazarovic has only played few games at the league, he has proven to be among best players who have joined to the club this summer. His ease at passing midfield and start new attacks with his pace would be very important for counter attacks which will beneeded in some games. Fenerbahce needs to try its best to keep Lazarovic even if player is loaned from Liverpool.
