Turkey did provide good fighting spirit but did lose concentration in 5 minutes period between goals.
Turkish National Team has been relegated at quarter-final against Dutch National Team with 2:1 scoreline as it did concede 2 goals from 70th and 76th minute but it needs to be stated that it did provide very good performance in general.
When looking at the game in general, it needs to be stated that Turkey did provide good performance with providing right tactical game especially during second part of 1st half where it has also found an opening goal and has also some other players. But it needs to be mentioned that Dutch did raise tempo and control of the game during 2nd half and it needs to be mentioned that between 1:1 and 2:1 team has lost concentration and motivation of the game which did cost them game. It needs to be mentioned that after 2:1 after few minutes it start playing much faster game and has been created some chances back-to-back and in some moments did convert chances and has found some good chances but didnt find final touches or couldnt overpass defenders and goalkeeper. To some extend experience of players both career and age wise didnt have direct role especially during 2nd half.
Dutch National Team didnt provide very good game during 1st half as it didnt provide much pressure to Turkish goal and Turkey did control game for almost 2nd half and did use that period effectively between 70 and 76 minutes and in same manner as Turkey lost in that period of time, Holland also won in this period of time and now would meet England at semi-final stage.
Turkey did provide very good performance in all fairness during this game but did lose game in 5 minute period between 2 goals and such loss of concentration did cost them ticket to semi-final.
Halil Umit Meler returns to Turkey after 3 games at Euro 2024.
Turkish referee Halil Umut Meler has completed his Euro 2024 performance as he has travelled back to Turkey after showing confident and strong performance during 3 games and 1 game as being 4th referee.
With going through difficult season in last season with catalyst being attack towards him from Ankaragucu ex-CEO Koca, it has been important for UEFA to appoint him among as one of the referees at the tournament where he has managed to show strong performance and prove himself to be leading referee not only in Turkey but among leading ones in whole Europe. It also needs to be mentioned that UEFA has to some extend provided more support towards him than TFF at the days when Turkish community does criticise UEFA treatment towards country. Its not that UEFA is being nice to Turkey but this also taking into consideration. With providing such good performance in all games at Euro 2024, he would return to Turkey with raise of confidence without doubt.
There might be statements that he didnt recieve game after quarter-final but coaching 3 games with all being crucial ones is without big achievement for Turkish referee.
Clubs are waiting for Euro 2024 to be over to start active transfer activity.
Turkish Super League even through does make number of transfers especially newcomes and Trabzonspor it still needs to be stated that window is being quite with one of the reasons without doubt being Euro 2024.
Activity at transfer window both in Turkey and rest of the Europe in understandable manner does start after European Championships and World Cup mainly due of clubs where players are waiting for final prices as with good performance of named player value would be naturally rising and hence there is risk of making deal at lower value before or during tournaments.
