What happened in Turkish football today? 26/07/2024

Ugurcan Cakir has been main reason for Trabzonspor win.

Trabzonspor has got confident away scoreline of 2:0 against Slovakian side Ruzemberog at Europa League 2nd qualifying round but it didnt provide very good performance and should be thankful for Ugurcan Cakir to get advantage scoreline.

It needs to be mentioned that despite of scoreline, Ruzemberog has been side which did create chances and had high amount of possession and to some extend been unlucky not to get win while Ugurcan Cakir with his outstanding performance at goal has played key role with team winning game as Trezeguet and youngster Cihan Canak has been used their opportunities with Canak has been without doubt an outstanding shot from distance at the last minute of the game. Still, if it wasnt for Cakir Trabzonspor could easily lost and side didnt provide a positive view for upcoming season as Abdullah Avci needs to work at team for sure.

Trabzonspor hence did get huge advantage for 2nd leg but it is clear that team would need to improve a lot for upcoming weeks.

Basaksehirspor got an easy win as expected

Basaksehirspor as would been expected did get an easy and confident win against San Marino side La Fiorita at Conference League 2nd qualifying round 1st leg game as it won game with 6:1 scoreline.

Basaksehirspor has controlled and dominated game as it wished to for 90 minutes with having back-to-back dangerous attacks which led for 6 goals to be scored at opponent. La Fiorita did try to show some resistance and positive game which has been rewarded with 1 single goal but quality difference has been visible at all section of the field as this game at leat provided experience to La  Fiorita.

Basaksehirspor hence did this 1st leg result with an end of all tie and likely would treat 2nd leg game as friendly game.

Konyaspor has signed Umut Nayir

Konyaspor has signed Fenerbahce player Umut Nayir who didnt get lots of playing time during previous season despite of having high expectations and also wouldnt have recieve lots of time at his previous team in upcoming season.

Umut Nayir level of player might not be in same level as for top clubs in Turkey but without doubt he would be ideal transfer side for mediocre teams as he does have some good skills attack and for Konyaspor which does have modest aims for next season, Umut Nayir would been an important addition. Hence as always, this transfer seems to be win-win situation for all parties as Fenerbahce sold player which it didnt plan to use, Konyaspor has strengthen its squad while Umut Nayir has joined team where he would not only getting playing time but also play an important role.

Konyaspor hence did make an important transfer to its disposal and player would be expected to take key role in upcoming season.
