Turkish National Team need to use Merih Demiral issue as positive motivation at game.
Turkish National Team would be coming out to the Euro 2024 game against Holland with being affected from Merih Demiral 2-game ban for showing Grey Wolves sign during celebration and this would have affect towards players psychology.
Merih Demiral incident with UEFA could have both negative and positive effect into team, but it would need to focus into more positive factor as it would be aiming to provide much more motivation but still would need to focus into providing concentrated game which has been seen at Austria game. Also, it would be important not to provide any reactionary action such as showing that sign once again if Turkey does score or celebrate if it gets to semi-final as UEFA could again provide ban and fine. Turning to the game, Holland are coming out as favourite but it needs to be stated that apart of Romania game, Holland didnt show as similar performance as did Austria as could be seen from group stage. It would be important to Turkey to turn its high motivation and will to win into organising game and then getting to semi-final coould be pretty achieavable aim.
Turkey hence would come out to game into motivated factors and it would need to focus to turn this factors into advantage with showing fighting spirit in sportive manner.
Dutch team could be more motivated for Turkey game.
Coming to the Dutch team, as been noted team do come out as favourites due of history and to some extend squad but it is hard to state that team did necesarilly show good and positive football at field.
To some extend only game which Holland did show good performance has been game against Romania at quarter-final but it would need to be mentioned that Romania also didnt provide strong game and did fail to get control of the game due of possible of feeling under pressure. Still, Dutch team did get an important motivation and confidence for game and would like to use its momentum and hence it might provide some issues to Turkish goal and hence its important for defenders to show organised strong game for 90 minutes.
Dutch with being more experienced as team does have an upper hand and could provide raise of performance level due of game being at semis and motivation from 3:0 win against Romania.
Mehmet Demiral has recieved 2-game ban for Grey Wolves sign.
Turkish National Team did get harsh decision from UEFA with providing 2-game ban towards Merih Demiral which in perspective of TFF and whole Turkish community has been wrong decision with most media outlets using word Scandalous at headlines.
This blog will not get into argument if its being political or cultural decision but it needs to be mentioned that it did have affect towards whole community up to political names of Turkish community. Stating that it was visible so far in this tournament that Vincenzo Montella has managed to keep players highly concentrated onto field and hence this might not have negative impact to players. Meanwhile, TFF CEO Mehmet Buyukbasi has stated that he would not send to CAS as it doesnt allow cases which include less than 3 games.
It would be interesting what actions would be followed from TFF but statement from Buyukbasi does show that not much could be done.
