What happened in Turkish football today? 12/07/2024

TFF has announced candidates for CEO election for 18th July.

TFF has announced that it has accepted candidacies of Mehmet Buyukeksi, Servet Yardimci and Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu for TFF CEO election on 18th July as Servet Yardimci has announced day before that he would not run as CEO.

As been mentioned at our blog entry, race for CEO position would be going between incumbent CEO Mehmet Buyukeksi and Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu as Buyukeksi despite of successful performance at Euro 2024 is still being unpopular candidate due of scandalous season on previous season which had many scandals and high tension however it needs to be mentioned that Haciosmanoglu during his reign at Trabzonspor has been known for very harsh and street behaviour actions so it would be difficult to know who would win after unexpectedly Servet Yardimci announced that he would not run as CEO candidate.

It does look like it would be predictable election on 18th July as both names does raise lots of questions for this position.

Antalyaspor has loaned Standard Liege Moussa Djenepo.

Antalyaspor has loaned Standard Liege player Moussa Djenepo as he is expected to provide strength to the team for upcoming season as it aims to have better season than before hand without doubt.

Moussa Djenepo even through doesnt have very impressive past as player, he still does have lots of potentiality and taking account how easily adapted African players to Super League it could be expected that he would provide some strong and memorable performance at the team. It is also important that he has joined with month before start of the season as he would have time to get adapted to the league and team.

This has been an important addition to Antalyaspor and would lead for side to show strong confident performance.

Besiktas signs Ciro Immobile for 2-years.

Besiktas has made transfer deal with Lazio player Ciro Immobile for 2-years as this has been most eye-catching transfer so far during this summer transfer window without doubt.

Even through Immobile is coming towards end of his footballing career, he still does have strong quality and does have strength to push team forward and make them side which could be fighting for title both with his skills and experience as he could help youngsters at the team to develop and provide some valuable lessons. Time would show if he would be easily adapt to league and team but potentially he can make this team once again able to fight for title next season.

This has been an important transfer deal for Besiktas but it is reported that team plans to make even more signings in this summer transfer window.
