What happened in Turkish football today? 01/07/2024

Turkey needs to show strong confident performance in all areas of the field.

Turkish National Team would be aiming to raise its stay at Germany even longer as it would be playing against Austria at last 16 of Euro 2024 but it would be tough game as by many pundits opponent is seen as one of candidates to win title.

One of the positive factors which Turkey has that it does provide much stronger and positive performance at this tournaments when it gets to knockout stages and there would be some improvement with performance could be awaited at the game against Austria including at defence. One of the issues which Turkey needs to solve apart of ongoing defensive issue is to find strong replacement at the field for Hakan Calhanoglu who would not be playing due of recieving cards and role of Ferdi Kadioglu and Arda Guler would become even more crucial but there would be important. It would be crucial in overall for Turkey to provide strong and confident balance at defence and attack as it would be playing against strong organised team without doubt.

Turkey are being underdogs but as been noted above there are some parts for fans to be optimistic about for this game without doubt but it would need to be staying optimistic.

Austria will come out to Turkey game with high confidence and motivation

Austria on their part would be coming out in good mood and confidence as it did end its group as leaders at tough group which included Holland and France as it did show strong attacking game.

Stating that, being seen as one of the favourites to win title with team which historically didnt get further than quarter-final could provide some pressure to players but in same time it might not be much affected. Austria's one of the strongest side during this performance is being able to regain back possession of the ball which without doubt shows how effective it does pressure to the ball, an area which Turkey needs to focus on especially when its close to its own goal. Austria for sure is coming at strong confidence to the game and this would have positive impact at the team with its performance.

Austria would start game in confident manner and attacking style, it is important for Turkey to show from start that this will not be an easy game.

Next opponent for Turkey could be easier than Austria if it manages to pass them

This might be too early to discuss about this, but it might be reasonable to focus into another last 16 game between Romania and Holland as winner of this tie would be playing against winner at Turkey game at quarter-finals.

It needs to be mentioned that for Turkey, even through Romania might be seen without doubt as great opponent, with judging from performance at group stage of Holland, it doesnt look to be as bad opponent as to all respect to both opponents winner of this tie would be able to get to semi-final possibly. Romania does have good tournament especially with performance it showed against Ukraine and would come out with good momentum while Holland is not providing good performance and does struggle to find goals.

Netherlands are seen as favourites to get to quarter-final but Romania could bring some surprises at the game.
