Fenerbahce qualified to 3rd qualifying round but didnt show too convincing game.

Fenerbahce has reached to Champions League 3rd qualifying round after beating Lugano with 2:1 scoreline at home ground and aggregate scoreline of 6:4, but it needs to be mentioned that Fenerbahce didnt show very good performance and has went through quality factor of the team.

It needs to be mentioned that Fenerbahce has been criticised with its performance during 1st leg especially at defensive game and there were expectations from them to show much more stronger and organised game at home ground but in surprising manner its performance went even down as Lugano did find an early goal in similar manner as in 1st leg and did control game during 1st half in general. Fenerbahce did have an issue to show strong and organised game at the field with failing to control game and possession with having some issue with formation of the player on the field. Until free-kick goal from Edin Dzeko, Fenerbahce didnt manage to get control of the game and had looked to be pretty passive but till being inside game did bring some confidence to the game which led for this 2 goals. It needs to be also mentioned that Lugano did look tired towards end of the game which went into hand of Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce would need to use its advantage at home ground.

Fenerbahce would be playing at home ground during Champions League 2nd qualifying round 2nd leg against Lugano with 4:3 advantage but it still needs to be stayed focussed and provide an effective game.

Even through Fenerbahce does come out as favourites for 2nd leg and whole tie, it needs to be mentioned that it did make it slight difficult or more precise did keep chances alive for Lugano due of conceding at last minute and generally poor defensive game. It needs to be mentioned Fenerbahce would be expected to provide much more attacking game with creating lots of chances but it would need to provide more defensive game as Lugano would look for some chances. Ugurcan Cakir has been main reason for Trabzonspor win.

Trabzonspor got 2:0 win at away game but didnt show an effective game at all.

Trabzonspor got an important win at away game against Ruzemborog with 2:0 scoreline but it needs to be mentioned that Turkish side did provide too many chances to its opponents and game has only ended with clean sheet thanks to Ugurcan Cakir.

Trabzonspor did come out to game as favourites and this has been seen with scoreline but it needs to be mentioned that gamewise it did have trouble at getting upper hand of the game apart of few minutes at the start of 2nd half and apart of that it did provide many chances to Ruzemborog which some chances didnt come due of last touches or unluck for them but mainly due of crucial saves from goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir. Fenerbahce got an advantage scoreline but not so great performance.

Fenerbahce has started its new season campaign among Champions League journey and Jose Mourinho 1st official game with a win against Swiss side Lugano as it has won with 4:3 scoreline but it is clear team needs to imporve.

Fenerbahce got win but still didnt show game of its potential.

Jose Mourinho has got a win against Lugano with 4:3 scoreline during his 1st game as Fenerbahce head coach as team got slight advantage at the game which been played at synthetic field.

It needs to be mentioned that taking account that Jose Mourinho didnt have opportunity to prepare for game at ideal squad due of Euro 2024, it was expected to be tough game but due of quality factor it would have won game and it has been just like that to some extend. In fact, it needs to be mentioned that decider has been hat-trick of Edin Dzeko as his 1st goal without doubt did come at great game at the end of 1st half from penalty which has provided confidence at changing room which led for Dzeko to find an early goal on 2nd half. It needs to be mentioned that it take some time for Fenerbahce to get into game as it has conceded from 4th minute and didnt much prevent Lugano to get into game. Fenerbahce did provide dominant game at start of 2nd half but did lose tempo during last minutes of 2nd half.

Ferhat Gundogan has been elected once again as Central Referee Committee as following name has become infamous due of making decisions of taking out of referee lists number of experienced referees which included Cuneyt Cakir.

As it was stated also back on time, following decisions which went into Turkish football history of 8th May decision had serious effect into Turkish football and refereeing sector and has led for Ferhat Gundogan to resignation. Hence, appointing him once again as CEO of same organisation from new administration team of Ibrahim Hatipoglu does raise some questions of capacity and willingness of new TFF administation. It would be hopeful that Ferhat Gundogan would make decisions in future in more calmer manner without having some serious circumtances.

Hence, it would be interesting to see how such appointment would have effect to referee committee.

Goztepe signs Novarus Miroshi for 4-years.

Goztepe newcomers has signed Zulte Waregem player Novarus Miroshi for 4-years as he is expected to have some serious impact towards team performance in upcoming season as team priority would be able to stay at top league.

 Fenerbahce are clear favourites against Lugano.

Fenerbahce would be first team in Turkey which would be starting both 2024-25 season in general and also at Europe as it would be playing Champions League 2nd qualifying round against Swiss side Lugano where it would be coming out as strong favourite.

This would be also 1st official game for Fenerbahce head coach Jose Mourinho and without doubt he would be aiming to start his journey at the team with confident win both with performance and scoreline. It needs to be mentioned that even through players which did compete at Euro 2024 might not be at ideal condition after break, they would be available and it is expected that he would be starting with them. We might not see perfect performance from Fenerbahce but it would be one which would dominate game. 

Meanwhile, if Fenerbahce would get through Lugano it would meet at next round much more tougher opponent Lille and if it loses it would meet with losers of Dynamo Kyiv and Partizan tie at Europa League.

Trabzonspor will play against Wisla Krakow and Rapid Wien winners if it beats Ruzemborog.

TFF considers to raise foreign players limit from 12 to 14.

It is reported that TFF with its new CEO Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu are considering to raise foreign players limit from 12 to 14 players which if true would be welcomed from Turkish clubs.

With foreign players limit has been one of the most discussed subject areas in recent years with especially big clubs requesting to raise limit or even have it unlimited,it was expected that TFF with its new administration team would reconsider limit. It is rumoured at Turkish sports community that limit could be raised to 14 from 12 which would be small rise but this could be happening as step-by-step raise as team would need to make team building accordingly. Once again this is not offical statement and it would be expect for current administration to make statement in upcoming week.

Needless to say, our accounts would report new foreign players limit as soon as it would be announced.

Fenerbahce made deal with Gustav Isaakson.

It is reported at Turkish and Italian sports media that Fenerbahce has made transfer deal with Lazio player Gustav Isaakson for 4-years.

With this being only rumour, it would be mentioned that to some extend this development did come out of nowhere as there were any talks about this transfers at media. It needs to be mentioned that if rumour is true, he would be an important addition as Isaakson is being player with high potential and could strength Fenerbahce performance for upcoming season as his team Lazio does consider to sell him which does raise opportunity of this transfer even higher.

Mert Muldur goal has been selected as best goal of Euro 2024.

Turkish National Team player Mert Muldur goal against Georgia during Euro 2024 on Group F 1st week game has been selected as goal of the tournament from UEFA members as it was an outstanding goal.

Without doubt, game between Turkey and Georgia has been remembered as one of the best games and arguably best game at group stage which has also been remembered from an outstanding goals from Mert Muldur and Arda Guler. Central Referee Committee has announced resignation from its post after TFF newly-elected CEO has called for all members and communities to resign from its post.

It is known that Central Referee Committee are aiming to go through big revision for upcoming season and first step without doubt has been resignation from CEO Ibrahim Haciosmaoglu who in all fairness didnt provide much solutions in previous season and with also current CEO looking for new start with having controlling himself as would be expected. With relatively short period left until start of the new season, TFF would now need to find new CEO of committee and make strong administrative team which could be tough time in such short time.

Hence, this would be main priority at TFF and we would follow all developments which would be taking place.

Kenan Yildiz was unhappy with salary rise from Juventus.

It is reported that Kenan Yildiz didnt accept an extension deal from Juventus with rise of salary from 300,000 euro to 1.2 million euro as he did find value to be too low.

It needs to be mentioned that Yildiz did have an outstanding season at  Juventus and hence did show some outstanding performance and to some he is being right but in same time it could be noted that it is being significant by 4 times and hence it would be interesting to see how Juventus would be responding as it is unknown how much does Kenan Yildiz request for.Meanwhile, such crises between player and club could rise some transfer activities.

Bahattin Ekin has been appointed as new Sivasspor CEO after previous CEO Mecnun Otyakmaz is being member of TFF administrative team of Ibrahim Hacisomanoglu who has won election on previous day.

Bahattin Ekin it needs to be mentioned is taking pretty stable team and is being at good condition regarding to the level of mediocre Super League side and would more or less have a task of keeping it that way especially paying attention into keeping debt in reasonable amount and paying salaries to players at right time. Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu has been elected as new TFF CEO.

Ex-Trabzonspor CEO Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu has been elected as TFF CEO following poor administrative performance of Mehmet Buyukeksi during previous season despite of successful performance at Euro 2024.

It needs to be mentioned that with such scandalous season which Turkish football had including an attack to referee Halil Umut Meler from Ankaragucu CEO, two incidents which took place at Turkish Super Cup, Istanbulspor leaving field against Trabzonspor among others did provide an important advantage for Haciosmanoglu. Now, Haciosmanoglu would have difficult period of proving that he will not be taking side and will be aiming to reduce tension at Turkish football in upcoming future and generally move this game forward. He does have however an important trust from other clubs and this would help him to move things forward.

It needs to be reminded that Haciosmanoglu would be taking TFF in crises condition and hence he would have difficult period at solving issues at the federation in upcoming weeks.

Mehmet Buyukeksi trick of using national team didnt work

It needs to be mentioned that Mehmet Buyukeksi did rely into successful performance of Turkish National Team at Euro 2024 to be getting reelected as he put election after tournament and in fact Turkey did show great performance but it wasnt enough.

Buyukeksi knowing that he wasnt popular name at Turkish football community right now due of scandalous previous season and other issues has been hoping that Turkey would save his position but this didnt do trick as view towards him from different understandably has been negative. Also getting rid of most popular candidate Servet Yardimci here also didnt play its role. As been noted, Buyukbasi sadly was only making problems to Turkish football while he was staying so this decision from TFF members has been rightful in the time meaning.

Buyukeksi tried to use national team but it didnt work for him at all and we enter to new chapter at Turkish football.

Hatayspor extends contract with Kamil Ahmet Corekci for 1+1 years

Hatayspor has extended contract with its player Kamil Ahmet Corekci for 1+1 years as player has been one of the leading in the team on previous season.

As been mentioned on our blog accounts for long time, one of the important issues at transfer windows among signing new names at strengthing side is also keep players which does provide important strength and one of them is being Corekci. Fenerbahce loans Allan Saint Maxim for 1-year

Fenerbahce has announced that it has loaned Al Ahli player Allan Saint Maxim for 1-year for 8 million euro as it is been one of the most anticipated transfers at club during this summer transfer window.

It has been reported for some at Turkish  media that Jose Mourinho has specifically has wanted to loan Saint Maxim due of his strong performance which he has shown in Premier League earlier years and also at Saudi Arabia during previous season and it would need to be mentioned that it is being player which  does have high potential to show very good performance in upcoming season. With Jose Mourinho showing such strong interest towards player should be seen as sign that he has high potential and would be suitable for team in upcoming season. With Arabic side having some time with aiming to convince Fenerbahce at loaning him also shows his level of performance without doubt.

Trabzonspor terminates contract with Dimitris Kourbelis.

Termination are continuing to be taking place at Trabzonspor as team this time has terminated contract with Dimitris Kourbelis as player didnt satisfy expectations which he did provide when he joined team on previous season.

 Trabzonspor terminates contract with Meunier and Lahtimi.

Trabzonspor has terminated contract with its player Thomas Andre Meunier and Mountassir Lahtimi as team aims to reduce foreign players due of limit with reducing number to 12 players but it needs to be mentioned that Meunier could be unexpected.

It needs to be mentioned that team didnt play for long time during previous season of Mountassir Lahtimi and hence has been expected to be terminating contract with and hence it should be big surprise, but same wouldnt be stated same for Thomas Meunier who has provided lots of assists and been one of the few players who did show good performance. One of the reasons has been due of Meunier age and possibly for not agreeing with transfer fee as it would be surprising to see after previous season to end contract in that manner.

Trabzonspor hence did terminate contract with 2 players and we could hear some new signings in upcoming days as CEO Ertugrul Dogan stated that club are close to make transfers of 3 players.

Konyaspor has signed Marko Jevtovic.

Konyaspor has signed Marko Jevtovic player for 2-year  as team will not have any adaptation period as player did play on previous season and did show some good performance in this team.

Roda signs Tiago Cukur

Dutch 2nd division side Roda has signed Fenerbahce player Tiago Cukur as player would be expected not to get enough time in upcoming season as was case in previous season and such option could be best option for him.

Even through he does reduce his level in club status, it does need to be mentioned that for Tiago Cukur joining Roda would been best option where he would be able to get some playing time and possibly even restart his footballing career and hence he would like to see this new beginning while for Fenerbahce this would bring more flexibility both on squad and also at transfer front as team is still working on transfer window with only signing Levent Mercan. 

Hence for Tiago Cukur joining Roda would be good development for all parties without doubt.

Sanliurfaspor makes deal with Konyaspor player Stefan Shankovski.

Sanliurfaspor has made transfer deal with Konyaspor player Stefan Ashkovski who didnt recieve enough of playing time in his club without fulfilling his capacity.

With joining 1st league team which tends to be at mediocre level to some extend does show how Ashkovski wasnt able to fulfill his expectation as he hardly recieved playing time at his club and didnt provide strong and confident performance at training session. Hence, for Stefan Ashkovski leaving club to such level side to all respect towards Sanliurfa should not be seen as big surprise.

Fenerbahce didnt make transfer deal with Rennes for Bertug Yildirim.

Fenerbahce has ended transfer negotiations with Rennes player Bertug Yildirim due of factor that his club is requesting high amount of transfer fee to which Fenerbahce administration is not willing to pay.

It needs to be mentioned that Fenerbahce did put Bertug Yildirim due of his potentiality and good performance at Ligue 1 among priority but since player still being young it didnt want to spend lots of money to him while Rennes in undestandable manner didnt want to sell him for low amount. With both sides not being able to make midpoint during negotiations, it is reported that Fenerbahce has ended negotiations without aggreement for transfer.

Fenerbahce does aim to get an important players but as all clubs it aims to manage that with reasonable price which as been noted it didnt come with Rennes.

Galatasaray aims to reduce salary request from Scott McTomminay

Similar case is being with Galatasaray negotiations with Manchester United player Scott McTomminay as Scotsman is requesting 10 million euro but club aims to reduce this amount.

Even through Galatasaray does see McTomminay as important addition to the team, it would be expected for them to have reasonable negotiations with both sides and is very unlikely to make transfer deal for high amount. Negotiations are continuing right now and there is chance that Galatasaray would be able to make deal which would satisfy both sides.

Galatasaray as been noted are detirmined to transfer McTomminay but it does aim to achieve that in reasonable price and hence negotiations between sides are continuing to take place currently.

Sparta Prague are interested to loan Mathias Ross.

Sparta Prague are reported to be interested to loan with transfer option Galatasaray player Mathias Ross as player is not expected to be taking lots of playing time.

Ross due of experience and also quality of the squad, would not be expected to be getting lots of playing time at team in upcoming season and is being among players to which team does aim to sell and hence Galatasaray would see such offer from Sparta Prague as good one but understandably would look for financial gain. Besiktas signs Ciro Immobile for 2 years.

Besiktas has transferred Lazio player Ciro Immobile for 2-years and 6 million euro salary per season as this has been not only most discussed and eye-catching transfer in this window so far but also generally at Turkish football.

As taken account experience of Immobile in recent years especially at Lazio, it would need to be mentioned that quite naturally there are lots of expectation towards him from Turkish football in general and Besiktas administration does show signs that it is aiming to make competitive side for next season but it would need to be mentioned that it is still unclear how player would be adapted to league and team and how he would be performed as so far we can only talk about his high potentiality. TFF has announced candidates for CEO election for 18th July.

TFF has announced that it has accepted candidacies of Mehmet Buyukeksi, Servet Yardimci and Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu for TFF CEO election on 18th July as Servet Yardimci has announced day before that he would not run as CEO.

As been mentioned at our blog entry, race for CEO position would be going between incumbent CEO Mehmet Buyukeksi and Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu as Buyukeksi despite of successful performance at Euro 2024 is still being unpopular candidate due of scandalous season on previous season which had many scandals and high tension however it needs to be mentioned that Haciosmanoglu during his reign at Trabzonspor has been known for very harsh and street behaviour actions so it would be difficult to know who would win after unexpectedly Servet Yardimci announced that he would not run as CEO candidate.

It does look like it would be predictable election on 18th July as both names does raise lots of questions for this position.

Antalyaspor has loaned Standard Liege Moussa Djenepo.
