Trabzonspor have shown good response after unwanted result on last week.
Trabzonspor has shown an effective response to its loss to Fatih Karagumruk on last week as it has won confidently against Giresunspor with 3:0 scoreline especially with showing dominant passing game during 2nd half.
With losing to Fatih Karagumruk with 4:1 scoreline and hence finding itself 10 points behind league leaders Galatasaray, it was important for Trabzonspor to win this game and this factor has provided lots of pressure towards team in 2nd half as even through it did find one goal, it has struggled to get full dominance of the game and provide an effective attacking game. It also needs to be mentioned that turning point has been more of 2nd goal which did come from Maxi Gomez who has scored into empy goal after not being able to overpass Giresunspor as he has shown detirmanation, even through it needs to be stated that it has been felt sorry for goalkeeper Ogulcan Piri who saved 3 difficult positions before conceding. In addition, it has been very good to see Dogurcan Haspolat to find his 1st goal after few minutes entering to field and to manage with quality of his goal.
It needs to be mentioned that Giresunspor who did come to this game in good form, as it did get with 10 points from last 4 weeks but did fail to get inside the game and provide much danger to Trabzonspor goal and made some mistakes in defence. In fact, its goalkeeper Ogulcan Piri did play an important role for game not to end in worser scenario for them.
Trabzonspor hence regained its confidence with such win and has kept themselves at leadership race keeping point difference with Galatasaray as 7 points.
Galatasaray is not showing great game despite of wins.
Galatasaray carries on winning games at the Super League as its win against Ankaragucu has been 6th on the row but performance wise especially during 2nd half is letting team and supporters to wish more.
Following 3 games which been played following World Cup 2022, Galatasaray tended to provide an effective and attacking game during 1st half where it also get leadership scoreline but does show sudden low of level of performance during 2nd half and due of some luck and organising defence somehow manages to get get win and continue its leadership. Same case could be stated during Ankaragucu as their opponents has been more creative and attacking during 2nd half of the game. Without doubt, such performance would not be enough to get win against Fenerbahce and among some players returning to field following injuries and other matters, it could show some improvements on this aspects but it does look like team feels under pressure when it gets under pressure.
Being as leaders prior to derby game against Fenerbahce and getting winning run is being positive for sure but performance wise it needs to improve if it wants to win this title.
Ozguc Turkalp has ended his refereeing career.
Ozguc Turkalp has announced that he has ended his refereeing career following incident which took place during Super League 16th week game between Sivasspor and Galatasaray regarding of disallowed goal.
It has been especially important and right thing to do to accept his fault in this position stating that he takes responsibility of all his actions during such game. Stating that, taking account that TFF has made decision that he would not be taken any more VAR positions, to some extend is being move where federation did fire him, so such announcement doesnt change much in sense of what would happen in the future. Meanwhile, TFF has also announced that this one-off case due of lots of criticisms and also speculations regarding that position which led them to announce VAR recordings and this will not be repeated in the future unless of extreme circumstances.
Hence, such action from Ozguc Turkalp is being move to accept that he has been wrong to call offside at the VAR and hence has resigned from position which he was actually fired from TFF.
