Fenerbahce did get important win at difficult field.
Fenerbahce has returned to Super League after celebrating new year, with a win against Antalyaspor at the game which turned out to be tough game as it both fought against detirmened opponent and also poor field condition.
Due of poor condition of the field, Fenerbahce did provide pretty ineffective 1st half as it has controlled ball but failed to create any effective attacks among conceding goal from Wright on 14th minute. After conceding goal, Fenerbahce had some issues to get into game much but as it became used to the field and also Antalyaspor has started showing signess of tiredness especially during 2nd half, has led for Fenerbahce to provide much more good opportunities and hence has found 2 goals with Michy Batshuayi, one from ball which returned to post where he shot into empty goal and afterwards goal from penalty. Still, even through Fenerbahce didnt show it most effective performance it still got lots of chances and had one disallowed goal which is open for discussion and also got 3 posts during whole game.
Antalyaspor on their part did start game well as even through it didnt get full control of the ball, it did look detirmened and has been focussed into attacks straight away with long passes. Hence, while scoring goal on 14th minute it also good some good opportunities. It did reduce towards end, but there was disallowed goal due of offside which is as Fenerbahce is open discussion and criticism.
Fenerbahce hence did get an important win and did regain leadership for at least 24 hours and would now focus with confidence to derby game against Galatasaray.
Galatasaray would need to show top level game for 120 minutes.
Galatasaray would be aiming to carry on its level performance which it has shown in previous games and carry on its leadership in the league prior to Fenerbahce derby game against Ankaragucu.
Galatasaray has ended 2022 at its highest point as it did manage to win last games and has ended calendar year as league leaders but there are been some points at performance which it gave signs that it needed to improve. Stating that Galatasaray are coming out as strong and clear favourites against struggling Ankaragucu but one of the areas which side would need to focus on during this game is to provide top level game for 120 minutes. It tends to provide sharp decline during 2nd half as it could even draw games on previous 2 meetings. Hence, it would need to take Ankaragucu game in all seriousness for 90 minutes if it wants to come out against Fenerbahce as league leaders.
Galatasaray are being favourites for game but it could be tough game as Ankaragucu could provide some issues to the team during 2nd half.
TFF has punished 2 referees and 1 VAR due of critical referee mistakes.
TFF has announced that referees of Sivasspor and Galatasaray and Besiktas and Gaziantep games Erkan Ozdemar and Atilla Karaoslan would not referee games for long time while VAR game of Galatasaray Atilla Karaoglan will not take this spot once again in near future.
Following long discussions at the Turkish sports media and also at our accounts regarding this unclear positions it became clear that there was some actions from referees which is not accepting. In fact, at Galatasaray game at the Sivasspor disallowed goal it is clear that both referees are not 100% sure that this position has been offside and especially Erkan Ozdemar who became convinced from VAR. Therefore, there were needed to give some reaction to this referee mistakes which are not being forgiven and hence punishments has been rightfully given and in place and has strong message to other referees in upcoming games to be more careful when making such actions between VAR and referees.
It has also been important for TFF to announce this talks to make public clear what was happening and both why goal has been disallowed or card not given and also what led for such punishment from TFF.
