What happened in Turkish football today? 02/01/2023

Fenerbahce aims to start 2023 with win.

Fenerbahce would be aiming to start its 2023 with a win against Antalyaspor as the opponents are not showing similar effective performance as it did on previous season as Istanbul giants also aim to raise morale prior to Galatasaray game.

Upcoming 2 weeks games would have a direct impact of its aim to regain league leadership as it would be playing against Antalyaspor and then meet league leaders Galatasaray on 7th January. After losing 2 previous games, it did win its last game against Hatayspor and has regained confidence and hence would be expected to continue strong and effective performance against Antalyaspor. It needs to be mentioned that during previous games it did show strong game against Hatayspor and if it achieves to carry on this game in such manner it should not have much issues. Antalyaspor meanwhile likely would be focussing to look into chances from behind defenders of opponent.

Fenerbahce did regain confidence for this game and would be coming as favourites during its first game at 2023.

Sivasspor has called for Galatasaray game to be repeated.

Following scandalous events which did happen during previous week Sivasspor-Galatasaray game regarding disallowed goal, Sivasspor quite expectedly has send request to repeat game.

It needs to be mentioned that when position there was lots of talks regarding of position as it wasnt even clear why goal been disallowed, however sign of direct free kick means that it has been offside. Sivasspor as expected did send request to TFF that decision has been rule mistake rather than referee mistake as referee in fact did make right decision but its been ruled out by VAR. In addition, VAR protocol has been broken as last word has been given by VAR and didnt respect final decision of referee according to rumours. With such position where goal both goal been disallowed in incorrected manner and also breaking VAR protocol would be seen as signs of that game will be repeated even higher.

It would be interesting to see how TFF would respond as until now it didnt even make comment regarding why goal been disallowed even.

Kasimpasa has terminated contracts with Fode Koita and Bruma

Kasimpasa has terminated contracts with its players Fode Koita and Bruma as both sides didnt make deal regarding condition of the deal and hasnt been much effective at the team during this side.

Even through both players has been signed with lots of expectations due of they experience in the Super League, both players didnt provode performance which been expected from them and hence it has been seen more productive to terminate contract. Therefore, such development is not being very surprising especially from ones who does follow side. Still, both players still being players with high expectation and could be moved to another Super League club in upcoming days.

Such decision for sure could be seen as positive developments, as club send players who didnt get adapted to team and players will have chance to move side where it would enjoy playing time.
