What happened in Turkish football today? 29/01/2023

Fenerbahce got confident win with Enner Valencia scoring 4 goals per game first time in his career.

Fenerbahce has got a confident win against Kasimpasa with 5:1 scoreline at the game where Enner Valencia has scored first time 4 goals in his career in one game and without doubt has been best player on field.

With Galatasaray getting wins back-to-back at the league, it has been important for Fenerbahce not only to win games as being closest opponent but also as side which do get them in confident manner so it could provide pressure. It needs to be mentioned that it has achieved that as it has dominated game especially during 2nd half. It needs to be mentioned that even through prior to 1:1, Kasimpasa was still at the game Fenerbahce did look to be better side and even through it did get behind from Fall goal, there was so signs that Fenerbahce would be able to comeback. With penalty goal from Enner Valencia on 37th minute and team finding goal after 2 minutes again with Valencia it did enter to half-time at high confidence and did come out with much more better psychology advantage during 2nd half and has dominated game with Valencia finding another 2 goals, with arleady scoring 19 goals this season, making it highest scoring season in his career.

Kasimpasa as been noted did provide some good resistance towards Fenerbahce in the start of the game andd did score pretty good goals but as it start conceding, it did lose concentration as conceded goals also came from mistakes. This is an area which needs to be focussed from Selcuk Inan.

Fenerbahce hence an important win and did manage to send Galatasaray that it is capable to provide pressure towards them as long as it plays like that.

Galatasaray got an important win due of quality factor.

Galatasaray continues its winning streak at the Super League as it won against Giresunspor with confident scoreline of 4:0 and has raised that streak to 10 games or 13 if including Turkish Cup games.

It could be argued if Galatasaray did provide much better performance than Giresunspor as regardless of scoreline it needs to be mentioned that game has been played in between but with quality players at Galatasaray and also Giresunspor lacking last touches both due in general level and also have absences of some key players did play a direct role. It needs to be mentioned that Giresunspor did provide its best performance and has created some good opportunities but getting behind to 2:0 without doubt has affected into morale and concentration of the side which hence led for Galatasatay to find 2 more goals. It is quesitonable if most games Galatasaray are showing very good performance but they get wins and thats all matters.

Galatasaray without doubt as whole side is being at high morale and concentration and this factor does put them favourites prior to all games for sure.

Trabzonspor likely to be out of title race after loss to Hatayspor

Our blog keep saying that Trabzonspor is being one-loss away from being outside of the title race and with getting loss to Hatayspor it has used that opportunity and both when looking how side performs at away games and 13 point difference shows that team would have issues for title race.

It needs to be mentioned that Trabzonspor did provide poor performance whole game including 1st half which it has ended with 1:0 leadership. It did lack creativity and fast tempo performance and its poor defensive game has led for short period in start of the 2nd half to get behind from Hatayspor as opponents did show much more agressive and better game in 2nd half. Trabzonspor does get an extra push from supporters at home games but without them in away games it struggles to show some good performance and look to be ineffective and passive even when it does aim to provide pressure into opponent as they did in the end of Hatayspor game.

Trabzonspor does look to be out of title race due of 13-point difference and also in overall performance of the side as Avci would need to seek to find solution of this issue.
