What happened in Turkish football today? 20/06/2021

Turkey has completed tournament with high dissapointing outcome at Group A.

Turkish National Team has ended Euro 2020 group stage at 4th place with 0 points after losing to Switzealand with 3:1 scoreline as it lost motivation and concentration without doubt after conceding on 7th minute from Seferovic.

It needs to be noted that Turkey did start game at high note with providing fast tempo with creating high number of opportunities with looking for chances from far away as it needed to win game with high number of scoreline but Switzealand goal on 7th minute from Seferovic, as his side did need to win to get from group on 3rd spot did affect to whole game as Switzealand got control of the game while Turkey motivation and confidence has been reduced at all. Without doubt, best player in the Turkey has been Mert Muldur who did create high number of dangerous opportunities on the attack when scoreline been both 1:0 and 2:0 scoreline while other players were showing passive game even through Irfan Can Kahveci did find goal and at least has led for Turkey not to end tournament with 1 goal but it did provide very dissapointing performance without doubt.

Switzealand did come out to the game where win for them would be enough to get into knockout stages and it did just what it needed and did find goal when it needed most while Shaqiri did find 2 goals which become best player of the side and  got important for them.

Turkey in overall did provide very dissapointing result in all of the 3 games which being way below of its expectations and did lack fighting spirit during whole tournament and even through it did show some improvement in this game, its still been very dissapointed outcome.

Burak Elmas has been elected as new Galatasaray CEO.

Young businessman Burak Elmas has been elected as Galatasaray CEO election with only 47 votes more than his closest opponent Esref Hamamcioglu and without doubt would bring new blood to the side, after being elected.

This election has been without doubt one of the most crucial and contestant ones in recent history with 5 candidates running for CEO election but Burak Elmas and Esref Hamamcioglu due of strong connection within club and also good projects for future of the club did get upper hand in the election and after being elected Burak Elmas without doubt does have issue to solve with head coach, as he openly stated that he would be working with Fatih Terim and also starting focussing into transfers when coming to big clubs. Without doubt, it would not be easy to run sports club in Turkey and when its among top 4 sides, it would be even more tough for sure but with getting strong support behind he would be able to get some important helps without doubt.

With Burak Elmas as been noted being to some extend businessman of new generation, he would be able to provide some new fresh blood to the side without doubt.

Fenerbahce interested to appoint Igor Angelovskli as club's head coach.

Fenerbahce still didnt announce its new head coach as it is reported that many foreign coaches due of uncertainty conditions both in Turkey and in the club from football perspective makes it difficult to make deal.

New name which has been joined at Fenerbahce has been North Macedonian head coach Igor Angelovski, with who even through side didnt get opportunity for knockout stages with 1 game left did actually show some good football and competitive game which did provide some enjoyment to football supporters with limited players in the hand which does show with squad like Fenerbahce he can get some good outcomes. However, as with most of the name this is being only rumour and it is uncertain is club being interested and where he is in the Ali Koc list but we would follow this story.

With Fenerbahce starting pre-season training camp on 1st July, it is still being with coach and without doubt Ali Koc would need to work to find new coach at short notice.
