Turkey provided very dissapointing performance against Italy.
Turkey has provided very dissapointing performance against Italy where they opponents did provide full control of the game and has won Euro 2020 openner with 3 goals which did come on 2nd half.
It needs to be noted that Turkey did provide very dissapointing performance without showing control of the game at all during 90 minutes with being fully focussed into defensive game and only got ahead during game twice which been pretty ineffective as side didnt pass midfielding position. This blog did mention that there is nothing wrong to lose Italy especially with performance which it shown lately, but there was expectation for Turkey to provide some issues with its kind of game and at least it should lose with game which would make people happy. But it didnt even show that as it provided defensive focussed game. Turkey needs to take this game as lesson with focussing into improving its performance but in same time not to get much mentally into this outcome without doubt.
As been noted, even at tournaments where it got far it did lose openning games and hence it should focus now into Wales where it must show much better game.
Italy got confident start to the tournament.
Italy on their hand, did show very strong organised game with being side which did control game as it wanted. In fact, some people could say that its not even worser then 3:0 but it is certain that it ended with this scoreline because Italy wanted.
As been mentioned several times in our blog Italy did come as strong favourites and were expected to win game but quite possibly there werent expected to be so. In fact, it could be seen that in beginning of game Italy did also provided some respect to Turkey with providing patient careful game but when they observed Turkey unintention to go forward started to provide much pressure. Without doubt, unlucky own goal from Merih Demiral did led Italy quite naturally to go even further while Turkey didnt change its tactics. It is true that Italy did show worrisome and respect prior to game which been seen as positive for Turkey prior to game, but this turned out to be going advantage for Italy as it led them to show great game.
Without doubt, with this outcome Italy showed themselves to be strong favourites for whole tournament as their got in addition high motivation.
Oytun Ozdogan has ended contract with Fenerbahce.
Fenerbahce 3rd goalkeekeper Oytun Ozdogan has ended contract as he didnt get much playing time and it was known that club doesnt have plans to use him much as his level is not there yet but he does have potential.
As all of the players, most important experience does come from playing but in same goalkeeping position is especially harsh here as there is not much changes do come to goalkeepers. With taking account Oytun Ozdogan but in same time level of game currently does mean it would been better for him to live side. Regardless in which league and side he would be joining this summer, even through been selected to Super League side would be big plus, it would be most important for him to be playing in the team which would led him to play more regularly even in starting 11 to get crucial experience and fullfill expectations.
Oytun Ozdogan did do right thing but now he would certainly choose side which would help to develop into better strong player.
