What happened in Turkish football today? 11/04/2020

High number of people going for shopping 2-hours prior to curfew could affect start of league.

Turkish government has announced 2-day curfew over the weekend in 31 major cities but before 2 hours it went into effect high number of people went into cities to do shopping and aftermath of this action could have into league also.

It is clear that for season to be restarted would be depending into situation of Covid 19 and its behaviour in country and whole Europe, with number of cases and death would be one which would play crucial role. Therefore, the events of yesterday which sadly could provide rise of cases would without doubt lead country to be into more chaotic condition which would have direct impact into league with sudden raise of cases would be putting hope to start season into early June very unlikely. Cases in Turkey are also been rising which by itself its not providing positive aspect for whole community. It does look like Goztepe expectation to start full training on 27th April is being very optimistic for sure.

Time would show how yesterday events would have circumstances to Turkey but it would be hoping that nothing bad would happen.

Loris Karius is staying in Istanbul.

It became clear that one of the players who didnt travel from Turkey among foreign players in Besiktas has been Loris Karius who feels save in Turkey for now.

Karius who as all foreign players did get opportunity to travel to Germany didnt use this opportunity stating that he does feel safe in Turkey for time being and could be reconsidering this option in the future. Being a player which club considers to end contract in the end of the season, this is being interesting option and among feeling safe in country also means he wants to show club his intention of wanting to stay in the club after this season for sure. With however there is being negative potential for Turkey cases to rise even more it would be interesting to see how he would act in upcoming weeks.

Still, Karius would be staying in Turkey and continue his training at home for this short time being.

Clubs would focus into their own academies after virus.

It does look like Covid 19 would affect quite negative to Turkish football and would let to reconsider its transfer politics with clubs being focussed into low priced but fully potential players with especially focussing into its academy.

There was active discussion about clubs to be focussing into its academies with focussing into creating players rather then bringing them from around Europe which are being old and towards end of their career. Therefore, after virus we might see different focus into developing players in whole Europe and in Turkey, with youngsters having better oppotunity to get more playing time and develop as long as academies work hand-in-hand with main team and head coaches would not be scared to use those players in this period of time.

Therefore, this virus which changes whole world would also lead for clubs to be focussing into creating strong players it has on its own disposal.
