What happened in Turkish football today? 05.06.2017
Turkish National Team has been too tired to play against Macedonia today.
International Friendly game between Turkish National Team and Macedonian National Team has been ended with goalless draw as both sides has shown strong signs of tiredness following end of European football season.
Taking account that Turkish Super League has been ended only two days ago players from Turkey has been viewed to be especially tired compare to the Macedonian players and their were specifically tired for Besiktas players to some extend as their had become tired from long-term game and league title celebrations. It needs to be noted once again that one of the reasons for Turkey to provide such a poor performance with playing showing tiredness was fault of the Turkish Football Federation for ending season too late. In fact, similar event has took place last summer prior to Euro 2016 which could be seen as among reasons for Turkey to provide such a poor performance at the tournament. At the game which has lacked of any attacks it needs to be stated that Macedonia did manage to create some number of attacks while Turkey has been lacking to create even half moments during the game.
Macedonian National Team did in fact found 2 goals but it was not accepted due of offside but even through there was not much chances there were few where their could use tiredness of Turkey to find goal. Macedonia did want to win more, also playing at home, but a bit tiredness was seen from them too.
Turkish National Team did provide poor performance today but since it will be playing against Kosovo during World Cup Qualifier on 11th June and to all respect to their opponents there is not much to worry about after today's game.
Besiktas is above Super League level, but not strong enough to win European title.
For next few days, the blog would focus into the teams which would be competing at the UEFA competitions during next season and analysing their successes for past season and bit looking for next season. It would be reasonably to start this overview with champions of the 2016-17 season Besiktas.
Besiktas has carried on its domination at the Super League during this season and even through towards the end had some decline of performance especially after being relegated by Olympique Lyon during Europa League quarter-final, in overall it has shown a great performance at this season with providing that it has strongest motivated squad with focussed and tactical coach and also focussed administration which would do anything for their team to succeed. Everyone at the team has certain played an important role and this togetherness without doubt has played most important role for this success at the squad. As been seen after last summer, this togetherness comes from system as it has lost lots of players last summer and also by purchasing right players. Besiktas would certainly will aim to keep its squad but it is capable to find right alternatives when needed.
Besiktas main aim as been stated by the Senol Gunes and administrators is to make team go forward and become stronger squad at the European tournaments next season and to do that it needs better players indeed as current squad is only capable for Super League title.
Basaksehirspor would carry on improving as team.
Without doubt the main surprising side of this season has been Basaksehirspor and even through it has been used to be at the top 4 or around that area in last few weeks and also with memorable and surprising results against big "4" teams, this is first time Basaksehirspor was competing for league title.
In fact, if it didnt draw against Trabzonspor during 32nd week game it would be able to fight for league title at least at the last week games even through getting would be also seen unlikely. Regardless what it does next season at the Champions League, as it would have pretty tough opponents at the 3rd qualifying round games, the fact with few number of fans it has got into Champions League qualifiers is arleady big achievement. What is more important that it has all the reasons to carry on this performance next season and once again fight for league title as it does show aims to make its squad stronger for next season and push forward, but it does need to keep Abdullah Avci as coach but he doesnt seem to be going anywhere. Basaksehirspor as team has been improving at the past season and would carry on to do so.
Now, some people might state that reason for Basaksehirpsor to be so good is due of poor performance from Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. But it needs to be noted that 73 points is not low number of points and in many occassions it was enough to win league title in Turkey.
