What happened in Turkish football today? 03.06.2017
Rizespor has been eliminated from Super League despite of beating Alanyaspor.
Despite of winning against Alanyaspor with 1:0 scoreline during last week games with penalty goal at the end of the 1st half, Rizespor has been eliminated from Super League to 1st league as Bursaspor has won against Trabzonspor.
As was expected, both teams has provided a great excitement during both fixtures as Bursaspor was coming to the game against Trabzonspor in condition that it must win the game if Rizespor would win their game. It needs to be stated that taking account that Rizespor has shown great comeback towards to today's judgement day as last week's game has been played. It was believed that Rizespor would be coming as much stronger side to stay at the league despite of being behind of the Bursaspor with 2 points. As Trabzonspor, did provide good game in start of the 2nd half being founding their goal during 51st minute did provide lots of the chances but Bursaspor has shown great comeback during the game and has turned their deficit into winning game which their urgently needed to do so. Surely, Rizespor would have felt dissapointed.
As would be remembered, Adnan Ornek as he has provided his resignation from Bursaspor has stated that team urgently needed shock effect for it to win today's game against Trabzonspor. Whatever, was done during this last game it has helped and possibly that shock effect has come not within the team but from Trabzonspor player Hugo Rodallega goal. It needs to be noted of course that Bursaspor is still at the crises and needs to find solution to this during summer transfer window if it doesnt want to experience similar fate during next season especially when being side which has won league title some years ago.
Even through for most part of the season Rizespor didnt provide great performance, during last week of the games it has deserved to stay at the league and has shown that during last game against Alanyaspor. With winning such an important game and being eliminated would certainly be heart-broken for them and their fans.
Fenerbahce has ended season at the 3rd place and would be at Europa League 3rd qualifying round
Fenerbahce has managed to win an important game against Alanyaspor with 3:1 scoreline and has ended league at the 3rd place which would mean that their would start at the Europa League at the 3rd qualifying round.
It needs to be stated that opponent for Fenerbahce has been relegated to lower league - Adanaspor and has certainly didnt come out to the game with high morale even through it has aimed to come out with style. In fact, it has found an early goal from penalty kick which has provided lots of the hope for Galatasaray to end league at 3rd spot but Fenerbahce showed great comeback with fast reaction and later founding other 3 goals. Fenerbahce after dissapointing season didnt manage to end season at the 3rd place which was their aim for last few weeks and with Galatasaray losing number of games. In fact, after 2:1 scoreline the game has been in relative and formative mood end of the game. It was announced today from Konyaspor, in fact during the game, that their head coach Aykut Kocaman would be joining Fenerbahce at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Adanaspor has been relegated from Super League due of some dissapointing performances during most section of the tournament and has started providing better performance a bit too late but at least it got great experience from tournament.
With Aykut Kocaman joining certainly to Fenerbahce it would become also what kind of changes would be made and what kind of revisions at the squad would be taking place as team would certainly use its primary aim to solve an attacking midfielder issue which it has for long time.
Galatasaray has won game but has ended league at the 4th place.
Galatasaray has come out the last game against Konyaspor hoping that it could enjoy longer summer by ending league at the 3rd place with Adanaspor providing a surprising result against Fenerbahce, but things didnt turn as their wished.
Today's game has also been last game for the Lukas Podolski as his team before moving to the Japan while it has become that Konyaspor head coach Aykut Kocaman would be playing his last game before joining Fenerbahce for next season. Galatasaray did provide some improvement during last weeks game but due of pretty poor season in overall it does need to be found lucky to end season with Europa League in fact. Galatasaray game as been stated has been main dominated by last game of the Lukas Podolski but their did their job at the game as their had managed to win game with 2:1 scoreline without providing its best performance.
Konyaspor despite of not having great season it has won its 1st Turkish Cup at its history and with Aykut Kocaman leaving the team has made his strong mark and signature to the history of the club. Now, Konyaspor would certainly look for another head coach which would be able to carry on good results for a team both at the Super League and Europa League during next season.
Galatasaray has ended season to some extend with high point as been mentioned, but as been talked a lot at this blog in overall it has been bad performance by them during whole season and as a team needs lots of revisions during summer break.
