What happened in Turkish football today? 21.06.2017
Osmanlispor didnt agree with Bulent Uygun for his appointment to become head coach.
Despite of making principal agreement with head coach Bulent Uygun for 3 years, Osmanlispor didnt manage to make final deal with the coach even through it did look to be done deal.
There is not much information why the agreement has not been made but as was remembered this blog has been criticised for Bulent Uygun coaching style and also what kind of aims he could have with team he would be managıng. Therefore, two reasons why this agreement didnt take place at the end could be due of the monetary issue or misagrement about the future of the club and transfers. For instance and this tends one of the main reasons why club dont seem to agree with their head coaches are budget into the transfers as it is likely that Bulent Uygun has byhas suggested to transfer an expensive players and once who administration might not see to be useful to the team. Assuming that final contract was not signed with the possibility of misagreement, it was specifically important to make such a case prior for him to become head coach as those issues which could be raised during his reign would lead to more complicated situation.
As been stated beforehand, Osmanlispor does have strong aims for next season such as fighting for Europa League spot again and it needs to have head coach which would also have same passion as club.
Jeremy Menez has signed 3-year contract with Antalyaspor.
Antalyaspor has transferred Bordeaux player Jeremy Menez which has become 2nd official transfer of the club during this summer after Maicon has signed contract with club for 3 years in the weekend.
As been mentioned several times during this summer Antalyaspor does have a strong aims and Jeremy Menez would play an important role at the team to achieve during next season. Menez did state during signing ceremony that he did talk to the Samuel Etoo about club and he has played an important role for him making this contract and observing stadium and facilities in past day has made him realised that he has made right decision to move to Antalyaspor. He also as expected has promised top performance to the fans for himself and whole team. Menez would be accepted to provide this top performance as has capability and would play an important role for team to fulfill their aim of next season to get Europa League and have all-round great season compare to previous one which it has started pretty badly.
Jeremy Menez and Maicon are two big transfers which led some heads turning towards Antalyaspor during this summer, but it is expected that it would continue to make some more eye-catching transfers as summer transfer window carries on in Turkey.
Kayserispor would have transfer meeting with Sabri Sarioglu tomorrow.
Kayserispor CEO Erol Bedir has announced today that he would among other administrators at the club would meet with Galatasaray ex-player Sabri Sarioglu at joining team after his club has terminated contract with him.
As soon as Galatasaray has ended contract with its legendary player, Kayserispor has been among first teams to show strong interest towards with him and even using another Galatasaray ex-player Umut Bulut during negotiations. With Kayserispor showing such an interest it should certainly be realised by Sabri and would lead him to be wanting to join the team. Only issue is that Sabri Sarioglu is reported to be heavily affected by decision from Galatasaray to terminate contract as he was hoping to end his career at club which he gave everything to and therefore would need time to get to himself mentally. But again he certainly aware that he need to continue his footballing career or at worst to end it in 2-3 years before planning. Meanwhile, there is report that Sabri Sarioglu has recieved unwanted surprise as Galatasaray has send him warning letter stating that he needs to pay 36,000 euro fines for recieving unneccarily cards during last season, which even through legally is right move the timing its not right as the club didnt even send his farewell to him officially.
If Sabri Sarioglu does decide to carry on his career, which he expects to, than he would likely join Kayserispor due of strongest interest and also Umut Bulut factor being present.
