What happened in Turkish football today? 19.06.2017

Galatasaray would play against Ostersund at Europa League 2nd qualifying round.

With Galatasaray openning its 2017-18 season with their 1st pre-season training session, it has also found its opponent for Europa League 2nd qualifying round fixture as it would be meeting with Swedish Cup winners Ostersund in the mid-July.

Since Galatasaray was coming out as seeded team and being among strongest team in whole draw, it was expected that it would be having the team which it would be able to eliminate without having too much trouble, to all respect to Ostersund. It needs to be stated that Swedish side which has only been in 1996, and is competing at Allswenkan for 3rd season right now, it could be seen as Swedish equivalent of Basaksehirspor which slowly becomes fighting for title with other Swedish clubs. So its not specifically easy opponent but taking account that Turkish Super League, regardless how much it was criticised as whole, is better league that Allswenkan it would be coming out as favourite. As club's sports director Cenk Ergun has stated in the sense of preparation it does have advantage to follow Swedish team at their league as it still continues since it follow Spring-Autumn calendar, however this could also be only disadvantage as their would be more prepared physically to game.

The game which as been stated Galatasaray would come out as favourite 1st leg would be taken place on 13th July in Ostersund while 2nd leg will be on 20th July at Turk Telekom Arena.

Fikret Orman looks warm to considerable amount of money from Marcelo and Oguzhan Ozyakup transfers.

Interest towards Besiktas players Marcelo and Oguzhan Ozyakup by Olympique Lyon and Roma respectfully has been a lot and it became clear that Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman with 8 million euro and 9 million euro transfer offers started considering to make this transfer.

However, it is known that both players and head coach Senol Gunes does want to stay at Besiktas due of feeling comfortable and also providing top performance which team would need for next season. With Fikret Orman more focussing into cash aspect and being aware that if those players would be sold with good money it would be able to make even more and possibly transfers. Therefore, as Fikret Orman has stated he would not force both players and Gunes to send those players away but would talk to them to find solution to this issue. In monetary wise it does make sense as it would give lots of relaxition in the sense of Financial Fair-Play and would allow team to spend cash in upcoming transfer offers.

The time as always would show if the players would stay at the team or not but it does look like it is win-win situation even through with finding other players would being risk of players to provide top performance at Besiktas.

Milan offers 20 million euro for Simon Kjaer but Fenerbahce does want to keep him.

Even through Fenerbahce does consider to keep its one of the key players at the defence Simon Kjaer at the team there is strong interest from Milan which slowly goes to provide an offer which would be hard to resist from team.

It became clear that latest transfer offer for Fenerbahce player from Italian team has been 20 million euro which would be incredible of addition with cash side and relax them with FFP regulations with this summer transfer window. However, it is known that Fenerbahce head coach Aykut Kocaman wants to keep Kjaer at the team and even move him up to the captaincy. This is also very interesting case with a team as it would be one of highest transfer offers team would recieve for longer time but Simon Kjaer is undoubtedly an important player, in fact it is clear that Milan is using this factor during this transfer negotiations.

It does look that for at least in upcoming weeks this issue would be among most focussed at the transfer window period both in Turkey and Italy.
