Turkish National Team announces squad for Euro2016.
Turkish National Team has announced 23-man squad for the final tournament of the Euro 2016 which will take place in France between 10th June and 10th July. The list didnt have much surprises despite of inclusion of the Emre Mor and Alper Potuk and Gokhan Tore not being included at the squad.
Turkish National Team head coach Fatih Terim as it was announced earlier had a difficult task at selecting best players for the Euro2016 and he did achieve that to some extend. Another name which was normally would be expected at the list would been Serdar Aziz but due of injury he wasnt selected. Taking account of the circumstances such as injuries and recent performances by players, Fatih Terim did select his best side and hence would provide its best performance at the Euro2016. One of the uncertain players who were included are Emre Mor and Caner Erkin, latter for not playing for last two months. Last friendly game against Montenegro did show that those players are capable to provide great performance at Euro 2016.
Next and last friendly game before Euros will be against Slovenia on 5th June and at this game we would be able to see the ideal squad for Euro 2016 and in this game it will be easier to comment about strength of Turkey before campaign.
Turkey can make great Euro2016 campaign.
With 10 days left to the first game of Euro2016 between Romania and France at the opening day there is arleady countdown taking place around Europe for the tournament and this is case also at the Turkey.
There is been long conversation how would Turkey perform at the Euro 2016 and as been stated several times it can end the tournament as far as to semi-final and also ending group at last place. It has very tough group with Croatia, Czech Republic and Spain, with who it has some connection at Euro2008. It won incredibly against Czech Republic at group stage and beat Croatia with penalties next stage and if it was lucky against Germany in semi-final it could have met with Spain at the final. Turkey surely will need luck and remind us all why Turkish slogan "Its not over until we say its over" is still case for this tournament.
Turkey has potentiallity to achieve a lot at this tournament as long as it believes itself and surely it would be make proud Turkish population and Turkish supporters around the world.
Besiktas is likely to have negotiations with Gokhan Gonul as he is free player now.
Fenerbahce player Gokhan Gonul contract with his team has been expired today and right now all focus would be given to Besiktas as it is known that club is highly interested with him and according to some rumours has arleady made deal with him.
Fenerbahce didnt show any interest at extending contract with one of its key players and in weekend Gokhan Gonul manager did state that their wont have negotiations with a team after this day. Their is strong rumours going around Turkish media that Besiktas has made 2+1 years deal with Gonul and its only matter of signaturies left. However, the official deal might be left until end of the Euro 2016 as there needs to be one-on-one negotiations to be taking place with Gokhan Gonul and his manager with the Besiktas.
If this transfer will take place it would make Besiktas much stronger squad at defensive both at the league and Champions League next season.
