Galatasaray has shown white flag for the league title mentally also
It became visible that Galatasaray has also mentally thrown white flag for its title hopes with today's performance against Konyaspor especially during 1st half of the game, as the game has ended with 0:0 scoreline. Galatasaray surely has lost its fighting spirit which apart of situation at the league also leaving of Burak Yilmaz to China and Financial Fair-Play issue at the Europa League could affect negatively to team's today's performance.
Even through it was mentioned at the yesterday blog that being out of title race would lead to the high number of losses due of lack of attention of the team by being far from set aim, losing at the home game to Konyaspor could be treated as surprise result. Even last time, during 2010-11 season when Galatasaray had very bad performance, it still had very good home ground record. The loss of concentration at the players could be seen during whole game especially at the first half where hardly any positions were created. It needs to say that Konyaspor didnt use this opportunity where effective in a way that 0:0 scoreline, even through getting at least point from big "4" team is always good result, it will be not if that team is playing badly right now.
Its been stated recently at this blog number of times that main focus of the Galatasaray are Turkish Cup and possibly Europa League, even through this performance is not good enough for that tournament. The fact that priority had been changed became much more visible with today performance.
Coming to Konyaspor, this was an important point for them for European spot and taking account who are opponents however Galatasaray were poor today and more likely by me would be seen as missed opportunity.
Fenerbahce has played worst game of the season
Fenerbahce has provided very poor performance at the game yesterday against Antalyaspor and the way it has played has provided more damage to the team rather than loss of 3 points at the title race. During title race, sometimes the teams can lose points however when it doesnt fight for it there is raise of question.
Starting from the game Antalyaspor has shown agressive football against Fenerbahce and has controlled the game before and after scoring goals with Samuel Eto'o leading the team with its performance. Even through Kjaer not playing yesterday for Fenerbahce has done some harm to the defence of the team this poor performance could not be referred as only his mistake. Teams doesnt get that low at performance with one player missing regardless how important he is. Fenerbahce needs to get very important lesson with this result and try to solve them in upcoming weeks.
Up to now with 2 games in hand Fenerbahce had upper hand compare to Besiktas due of pressure given to them, however with losing yesterday and Besiktas winning this Sunday and other 2 postponed games would make them 4 points ahead and now Besiktas psychology issue is actually advantage to them.
Fenerbahce loss brings motivation to Besiktas.
With Fenerbahce losing yesterday to Antalyaspor, Besiktas has become even more favourite against Gaziantepspor as the point difference issue which has raised from postponed games would be reduced as their opponent has lost very important 3 points.
Besiktas in game-wise despite of some poor result at the Turkish Cup last month is still very high and players as it is known minds are set into the winning with very good performance. With its new signing players surely providing impact to the team and with morale and motivation raised from yesterday result would very likely aggresive attacking Besiktas which would be hunger for goals or at least providing dominance at the game. Besiktas surely would use tomorrow's opportunity to the max.
Gaziantepspor meanwhile needs to provide focus and as for each team against Besiktas find ways to stop attacks of Besiktas and in same manage to play attacking aggresive football. Its difficult task but could be achieved with luck and full focus.
