What happened in Turkish football today? 16.02.2016

Fenerbahce has totally dominated game against Lokomotiv Moscow.

Fenerbahce has provided probably most dominated game this season and with Vitor Pereira best games. As at Europa League 1st leg last 32 game against Russian opponent Lokomotiv Moscow it has controlled game from start to end and could in fact score much more goals then it did.

Despite of the fact that both goals were scored by Josef De Souza, whole team was playing high quality game which could be suitable for European tournaments and not giving any space for the Russian opponent. In fact, wherever there was ball there was always Fenerbahce player who was going after the ball and when the ball was in opponent leg Fenerbahce with high pressure easily got control of ball once again or provided enough pressure to make mistake by opponents. Fenerbahce player Robin van Persie has also provided high performance at the game getting into high amount of goal positions at the game and having chances to convert them into goals.

Today's game was probably first time this season which had satisfied the fans who were viewing the game both at stadium and at home and surely provided signs that this team could get very far and in fact win the whole tournament at May. Fenerbahce needs to build on this. Only downside was not findiing 3rd goal which could provide even more calm returned game in Moscow.

However, Lokomotiv Moscow was below threatening either due of long winter break or some lack of motivation and hardly provided any scare to Fenerbahce goal apart of 2-3 positions during the game. Lokomotiv Moscow needs to change drastically for next week to turn this fixture, but it doesnt seem like it could manage that hard task.

Trabzonspor players mood is at highest after winter break.

Yesterday's performance by Trabzonspor players during the game against Kayserispor could be regarded as an improvement compare to previous games and high motivational boost prior to an important game against Galatasaray. It was important for a team to start playing good football.

It could be stated that in performance wise Trabzonspor is still not close enough for its ideal level as the game has ended with 2:1 scoreline against Kayserispor however players are showing that it has desire to get goals and hence points towards the end of the season and ending season  at the highest place as possible. Trabzonspor head coach Hami Mandirali among club CEO Muharrem Usta have a difficult task at keep players at the high motivational level at this period but occasional good performance that prior to same games this is achieved, as was the case against Kayserispor game yesterday. Of course, ending this season at high note could be important for next season performance.

Trabzonspor right now would play against Galatasaray on Sunday, whose performance is currently is very badly and disoriented. It would be game between high morale team which needs even more against team which have given up league. Win against Trabzonspor would help them end season at high note.

Mersin IdmanYurdu is not as easy opponent to Besiktas as it looks

One of the two games which  were cancelled by weather conditions which Besiktas will be played tomorrow in game is against Mersin IdmanYurdu. Even through the game does seem favourite seem to be  Besiktas, right now Mersin IdmanYurdu  is providing great performance focussing into getting out from relegation zone.

One of the biggest problems which Besiktas has in the game which would restart at 5th minute, is that it will not used newly-signed players at game yesterday which is big problem as main defenders are injured. Besiktas also needs to treat Mersin IdmanYurdu if it doesnt want to have surprising result from yesterday game and recieve huge blow at the title race it has with Fenerbahce, especially after draw against Basaksehir on Sunday. Saying that Besiktas players are currently are highly motivated and will have huge self-belief at game yesterday.

Coming to Mersin IdmanYurdu, despite being way below at league table it provided nice performance at the 2nd half of the season including win against Galatasaray last week. As long as it provide nice and compact defence it could bring result at very important game for two clubs tomorrow.
