Besiktas didnt use an opportunity of getting to 2nd place as it has drawn with Konyaspor with 3:3 scoreline at home ground despite of winning 2:0 scoreline and also didnt manage to provide happy farewell to its player Atiba Hutchinson with a win.
Besiktas did get an opportunity to end season at 2nd place with overpassing Fenerbahce due of head-to-head and it has been close to achieve that as it went ahead of the game with 2:0 scoreline and has been side which did control game with Konyaspor did look to be pretty passive. However, with conceding goal in end of the 1st goal due of simple Mert Gunok mistake has provided confidence towards Konyaspor and also led for Besiktas to lose concentration as to some extend 2nd spot is not very strong motivational boost even through it did show good performance in recent games despite Galatasaray announcing league title. Trabzonspor has ended dissapointing season with loss to Basaksehirspor.
Despite of winning back-to-back 3 games and scoring 11 goals on those games, Trabzonspor has ended season with 3:1 loss to Turkish Cup finalists Basaksehirspor as it complete very dissapointing for themselves.
It needs to be stated that despite of Trabzonspor being on good form prior to game, lack of motivation which has been less than Basaksehirspor has played its direct role with outcome of the game and as Basaksehirspor has scored goals, that confidence and motivation has been reduced. It also needs to be mentioned that with high number of absences in the squad, such performance could be understandable even through its opponent didnt come entirely ideal squad themselves. Still, there were some positive areas during game which Nenad Bjelica did get from not ideal squad on field and has affected possibly his plans for summer transfer window.
This has been not very successful season for club especially after winning title on previous season, but now Bjelica during this period did have opportunity to know team and work how to improve side in summer for next season.
Riza Calimbay will be leaving Sivasspor this summer.
Sivasspor head coach Riza Calimbay after pretty successful 4-years at the club has announced that he would not be in the team during next season.
It could be noted that despite of semi-final of Turkish Cup and good performance at Conference League with getting to knockout stages, as whole it wasnt very good season for a team as it being close to relegation zone for some weeks. Still,when looking overall Calimbay did show very good performance winning at Turkish Cup on previous season, providing an important role fro coefficient as without, Turkey would been in even more bad condition and also getting close for title. Sivasspor might in fact have some issues to find replacement as to all respect its being hard to keep good results in such modest side.
Riza Calimbay did show great performance but this season without doubt has been tough for them and he would be going to deserved rest for time being.
