What happened in Turkish football today? 10/06/2023

Fenerbahce would come out for win at Turkish Cup final.

Fenerbahce would be aiming to win Turkish Cup for first time after 7-years break and also end season with a title as it did lose Super League title at 2nd spot with 8 points behind Galatasaray.

It needs to be mentioned that loss in title race to Galatasaray followed to last game loss with 3:0 had some mental impact to players and also supporters so it could be difficult for side to be specifically motivated and confident but in other side Fenerbahce are expected to see this game as very important as Jorge Jesus did state that even through he was taking Super League into priority, he also focussed to get Turkish Cup and achieving would still be count as successful season on his eye. Therefore, Fenerbahce would be providing game to win game and is expected to show controllable but in same time provide lots of pressure towards Basaksehirspor.

Fenerbahce hence would be expected to provide some strong pressure but it would need to pay attention to penalty areas of the field.

Basaksehirspor will aim to end  at high note in this mixed season.

It needs to be mentioned that Basaksehirspor did have much more mixing season as it started season in strong manner with dominating both league and Europe but did lose that performance after World Cup.

To some extend, turning point of the season in negative manner has been Galatasaray game which it did lose with 7:0 scoreline as it didnt manage to get into similar performance once again, but Basaksehirspor does have an opportunity to end season at high note and it would be expected to do with coming on in confident manner with providing pressure towards Fenerbahce. It needs to be mentioned that Basaksehirspor did have some difficult moments from Fenerbahce during Super League in both games and hence it would need to find solution on how to provide issues to Fenerbahce with providing more attacking game possibly.

Basaksehirspor hence also being motivated to get win and end season at high note and would feel likely less pressure during 90 minutes.

Galatasaray CEO election would take place every 2-years.

Galatasaray has announced that it has changed its charter at club rules with reducing CEO election from 3-years to 2 and hence making control towards CEO into more difficult and would recieve approval rate in much shorter period.

This decision, as been noted to some extend been stated from Dursun Ozbek, is being opportunity for members of the club to approve work of CEO during his period as their tend to rerun and stay for long time, but as 2 years surely being much shorter period then 3 weeks. Hence this would be more controllable period for current and would provide less relaxation.

This has been pretty important change for sure and would be likely have positive impact to management of the club.
