What happened in Turkish football today? 09/06/2023

Turkey has announced its squad for game against Latvia and Wales.

Turkish National Team squad has been announced prior to Euro 2024 qualifiers against Latvia game on 16th June and Wales game on 19th June as been expected it did mainly consist of players playing outside Turkey.

As it is known, Turkish National Team is taking those qualifying campaign very seriously as it has set an eye to compete at Euro 2024 and did make a pretty competitive squad which also includes Eyupspor player Umut Nayir who has shown outstanding performance during his loan period at Umraniyespor at recent compeleted Super League season despite of side being relegated and did deserve on that squad. It needs to be mentioned that role of attackers needs to be taken into extra effort as there would not be Cenk Tosun due of injury he got against Konyaspor.

Turkey will start its
training camp on 11th June as team would have two tough games where it would be aiming for 6 points for sure.

Memik Yilmaz has been elected as Gaziantep CEO.

Gaziantep has elected Memik Yilmaz as newly elected CEO would have a difficult season as he would aim to make a competitive side after devastating earthquake on 6th February as it did had damages as far as it didnt complete previous season.

With some of the destruction happening in Gaziantep during this earthquake, club would be aiming to get back into strong mentality starting from pre-season training camp and it would be important for Yilmaz to provide such motivation and confidance mentally and financially without doubt and he would be likely seeing for some financial support from outside as team would be going through difficult period where it would need to get back on its feet once again.

Hence, Memik Yilmaz does have difficult task which he willingly took by winning this CEO election.

Rizespor has made principal deal with Ilhan Palut

Rizespor has made principal deal with Ilhan Palut as club's new head coach who does have some good experience with Super League teams especially mediocre teams and has all good experience in this level.

Rizespor in upcoming season without doubt would be to keep at top division and it needs to be mentioned that he did show some good performances at Gaziantep on previous season but has been sacked from that position in unexpected manner few weeks before earthquake. Getting pretty modest squad and also some economically suitable players during upcoming summer transfer window, Palut has also reasons to get some good outcomes for this team.

Taking account that he is being among names which are been available, Ilhan Palut has been good choice for team for next season.
