What happened in Turkish football today? 06/03/2023

Besiktas regained morale after Ankaragucu win.

With Besiktas failing to win last 3 games and hence getting further from top spot, it was important for side to show positive bouncing back with its players among new transfers and it managed to do that against Ankaragucu.

It needs to be stated that Besiktas has shown some strong performance during whole game and without doubt could have scored more but it has failed to provide conversion during such game both due of good performance of the Ankaragucu goalkeeper and also failing to get into target. Main issue at Besiktas has been showing some relaxation during 10 minutes and also tiredness of the players as it could be ending game with draw if there wasnt Mert Gunok top level performance. Besiktas without doubt did get a win which it seek for and hence has regained confidence with mainly good performance but it could have some concentration issues for rest of the season.

An aim for Besiktas for 2nd spot, as it is having 8 point difference from Fenerbahce could be seen more realistic compare to top spot but again it does look to be difficult task for sure.

TFF calls for supporters not to use political messages in stadiums

TFF has called in its statement for supporters to stay away from political slogans and pancards during Super League games stating that place for political messages.

This messages did come from tension between governement and also some clubs in Besiktas and Fenerbahce games which went as far as for Nationalist Movement Party leader Devlet Bahceli to call for games to be played without supporters. It needs to be mentioned that even through aim for this statement has been to reduce tensions at football games, since supporters tend to be from working class(even through much more when tickets were cheaper) means that political messages would be given especially at moments of crises.

Therefore, such call could be seen understanable but in other hand is it really going with Constitution right for freedom of speech.

Ankaragucu loans Matej Hanousek until end of the season

Ankaragucu has loaned Sparta Prague player Matej Hanousek, who was playing at Gaziantep prior to devastating earthquake and it needs to be mentioned did show some good performance so far during this season.

To some extend, this move could be seen loan deal from Gaziantep but since he was loaned from Czech club Ankaragucu rightfully went into make loan deal with team as player from what it seems looked to be comfortable to be in Turkey. This also has been good move for Ankaragucu as it did sign player who did perform in the league and is used to it and as been noted did show some good performance so he could provide important help with team aim to stay on the league.

Hence, this loan deal is being an important one and could provide needed strength to its squad for rest of the season.
